Question... as there are sooo many other threads about dalton i thought ide start another :LOLOL



anyways, it his famous video (YouTube - Fifth Gear S9E2) he says that his towels are "around 15 pounds for 2 towels"... or roughly $30. What towels cost that much? Are they woven with unicorn hair?

i personally wouldn't pay that much for towels, but $30 for 2 towels doesn't really seem that outrageous
 
my guess would be he uses zymol towels, they are $17 a piece from their website. But that video also looks like they could be Prometheus towels also.
 
I'm too lazy to read up. I know the guy has been around and likes to slather over exotics; but whats the big deal? (apparently he's a prick?)
 
I wanna know... what kinda polish that was that he needed so much on that pad for that one wing. Looks like a damn gorilla just skeeted all over that pad. :nomore:
 
The guy uses a $10k wax (given it is refillable, but there are waxes out there that cost $500+ without refills) you're asking about $15 towels? Give him a break already and stop being jealous... yes he's full of sh*t sometimes with 61 steps in a detail, etc. but he does in fact know what he's doing in detailing and he can market that crap (which is in theory true... you do need to spray, wipe, rinse, and dry wheels so you could say it's 4 steps, not 1) better than anyone out there... it's only a plus for the detailing community so **** about Paul, learn a thing or two and move on...
 
I don’t think Daniel or anyone from any of the replies is jealous at all. That includes myself. I think Daniel was making an attempt at humor. I know I laughed. Now envy is another thing. I would love to work on all those exotics and use a $10k wax.

Btw, wasn't that "Sonus" clay he was using? The narrator says it's "20 pound block of clay", but the Sonus clay is just $9 for the block, so approx. 4.5 pound :confused:

Prices have fallen over here in the UK since that was made!



But also, you are probably miss calcualting, i spend alot of time in the both the UK and the USA. I might come on here says Nattys paste wax costs $25/£12.99 but of course the real cost you is acutally only $20 or so. Much like alot of things, a Honda Civic costs about $30,000 here (UK(regardless of Acura spec etc)) but the real cost to you is only your local market price.



So yes a towels may cost $30 dollors when converted from Sterling to USD but that doesnt mean your local cost is going to be the Sterling price converted to dollors!

a little artistic exaggeration for the camera perhaps ;) Dont forget he is pushing uber exclusivity, so why claim he uses a MF that costs £3/$6 and anyone would go and buy... thats the entire appeal of these waxes etc IMHO, so you can SAY you use a $x000 wax :secret



prices over here often bear no relation to the US$ rate and exchange rate. Up until a few weeks ago a bottle of Z-AIO was the equivalent of about $55 :brit
