Finally, FINALLY i got to detail my car last saturday after waiting forever for all my toys, porter cable, and everything else, and also waiting for the paint to fully cure. Let me know what you think guys. Yeah i wish i had more pics but i was running out of light.
Background:
Car is a 2002 Firebird Transam WS6. Original color Navy Blue Metallic.
Repainted with viper blue basecoat and corvette z06 electron blue.
Process and items used:
Washed using Pinnacle Bodywork Shampoo and a microfiber bonnet. Dried with a pakshak large drying towel and leaf blower.
Applied SMR with a yellow pad with my porter cable 7424 just to make sure i kill off any swirls.
Once that was done i immediately applied AIO with a white pad, buffed that as i went along with a small green pakshak MF towel.
Than i applied with a viper MF application pad a coat of SG and buffed with a blue magic buffing towel. (super soft!)
Than finished off with Sonus High Gloss Acrylic. and WOW. Car looks pretty vibrant, i didn't get any in the sun pics, although under a street light you can really see the metal flake, only one coat of SG was applied because of time, i hope to get another one this week on. I hear as they add up it turns out real nice. I am thinking of using a topper wax to bring out the shine and flake more too.
What do you guys think? Also what product will make flake really come alive? (metal flake)
