$440 8oz zymol wax

Believe it, it is a lot better. However, my money isn't in that range where I could feasibly support that brand for my regular waxing routine. I am tempted to try it, but knowing me, if it outperforms my current Zymol brand, I'd go broke trying to keep up with buying Destiny.



Zymol's waxed finishes are incredible though. You will have to try them to see exactly what I mean.
 
Zymol has waxes that are more than $7000.00. That also includes a lifetime fill up. Are they worth it. In my opion yes. I'm not saying it's for the everyday wax job, but it has it's place. We do alot of super high end cars and the customers what it. So I give ir to them. We also charge accordingly. So it's worth it to me.

Honestly, I find that with a properly prepped surface you can make anything look good. The LSP is the finishing touch and not to say that it isn't vital, but it definately hinges on how well the car is prepared. I live in CA and quite near to Pebble Beach, home of the infamous Concours D'elegance. While there are some beautiful cars there I would go as far to say that I've seen some really talented people on this board achieve the same results with 'cheaper' products on all kinds of vehicles. These luxury waxes are exactly that, more of a statement. This isn't to say that zymol's waxes aren't great, in fact, I've heard a lot of good things about some of their stuff. But I've still seen people do the same quality work on this board and others with tons of other products.
 
They market one in the Uk at £5000 - I think that is about $10,000 USD at the moment.



It's well out of my league, but I guess if people want to spend that then there should be a market - and I guess some people do want to spend it, else it wouldn't exist on the market?!?!
 
Hey, if you have a car that CAN be entered into PB, then $2-7K for wax is just "chump change" anyway.....

They all seem to boast about having a very high percentage of Carnauba wax.



This one is from $2000 swissol

"containing over 60% by volume of ultra pure Brazilian white carnauba"



So any idea what Souveran contains?
 
I was curious so I called Pinnacle and asked what percentage of ultra pure Brazilian white carnauba Souverign had in it and they told me 33%. They also said that a wax cannot contain more then 33% carnauba otherwise it will not be in a useable form to put on cars.



So is Zymol and Swissol lying about how much Carnauba is in their wax?
 
I heard that too - Griots Garage or somewhere - saying that the highest volume is 33% and that's with being blended with chemicals etc to soften it as I understand that carnuaba in its raw form is hard, like candle wax, in composition.



Zymol et al seem to rave about "natural" products but unless its 100% carnuaba, surely that's poetic licence at best?



Over here, Zymol are making the most of being the "only" carnuaba available and no doubt selling it by the bucketload, but like others have said, it'd have to be;

etc etc



And it didn't fare too well in the Guru Test from memory?
 
Ive tried Zymol Carbon and I though that it was a very good wax but not any better than other stuff. I work part time for a restoration shop that 2 years ago they had a 1932 Buick in Pebble Beach , and what did they use at the time to prep the car, they used 3m wax. And for a detail spray the owners used a product called Perfect Detail. You can get great results with different products.

I wouldn't be surprised if they market that as something of a gag or publicity stunt, with no expectation of getting any orders.



I can't imagine any ingredients or manufacturing process that they could use that would justify that cost.
 
It's all about marketting hype and puff. I was surprised at the price of that Zymol wax and did a google search for brazilian carnauba to get the going rate for a pound of the raw stuff. Instead I ran into Harly Wax.



This stuff claims to be "100% Pure Number #1 premium yellow Brazilian carnauba and does not contain any abrasives, powders, cleaners, thinning agents or admixtures", and all for less than $17 a container. I think that 120% pure canauba contents would've been better.
