2009 GTR by Nissan

In general I agreed with your statement. But detailing is always dynamic and I trust Josh's assessment completely, just to clarify.

Great work, Josh. I don't why people always feel the need to criticize but I wouldn't have changed anything about the way you did it. :goodjob

Thanks, the owner hired me, but I detailed and prep'd the car at the dealership, but for the owner. The dealership did not pay me.

 Nice that the dealership cooperated. I got my foot in the door at a Porsche repair shop when a customer who was out of the country request I detail his Carrera at the repair shop before he got back in town. Was able to turn that into several more cars. Hopefully you can do the same, especially if you can use the dealership's facilities. :)

Nah, won't happen, they have a detail company already, plus they'd never pay what I charge.:grinno:

I do some work for Ferrari tuner but that's about it as far as shops go.

Hi I am the owner of the GT-R that Josh worked on. Josh did an awesome job - very impressed and happy. The paint looks fabulous - better than I ever expected. I'll be using him again for my parents' cars as well(they are Buicks but I want them to be the best Buicks in town).

Oh, the wheels on the GT-R are 20s. The wheel plastic was removed by someone before the dealer.

And, my car is faster now with the slick coat of Zaino :)

Outstanding work! Love the color. From what I hear, anyone with doubts about the way the car looks will be completely converted if they ever have a chance to drive one. I am still amazed that the dealer actually complied with a customer's wishes and did not follow their normal "prep" routine before you could get to it. There actually is a new car dealer that listens!!

John, great to see you on this site, it is one of the best sites to learn about proper detailing.

Thanks for the kind words. I'll see you soon to take care of the rest of your cars.

Thanks, well it did take a little convincing but the dealer ended up giving in. They wanted to prep it themselves, I'm glad the owner talked them out of it.

Awesome detail, these pics are great. You really did an amazing job with this car and avoided everything that would harm the vehicle. Once again, great detail.. I've seen some of your work on other forums, good stuff.

Great work Josh! If the dealer was smart, they would have watched and learned from you how to do a proper new car prep. Did you notice any contaminants on your clay bar from the body panels what were plastic wrapped? Also, did you ever consider polishing to improve the finish or was it as good as it was going to get?

David, I did inspect the paint and came to the conclusion that it really just didn't need any polishing (to my surprise), possible a good AIO cleanser before sealing, but not any corrective polishing.

Yes the clay did take off alot of contamination from every panel of the car even under the plastic. I'm not sure at what point they put the plastics on the panels whether it's before they ship it over seas or after but it had a whole lot of contamination on every panel including the side panels.
