2007 Bentley Continental GTC Convertible - Complete Detail

David Fermani

Forza Auto Salon
Here’s a 2007 Bentley Continental GTC (Convertible) in Neptune Blue with 4121 miles. It’s the 2nd vehicle detailed simultaneously with the Aston Martin DB 9 with special thanks to Autopian jgh1987 (Josh). This vehicle is powered by a 12 cylinder, twin-turbocharged engine producing 550 HP / 480 TQ. It’s capable of going 0-60 in 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 195 mph & weighs in at a hefty 5500 lbs!! Loaded with extensive options, this vehicle retails for approximately $225,000. Again, like the Aston Martin, this vehicle lacked professional maintenance so early in its life. Because of the color, marring wasn’t as noticeable as the darker DB 9, however, the interior (being cream colored) required a thorough cleaning and protecting.

Prep:

Wash with Auto Magic (AM) Wash & Wash via Foam Gun

EDGE Grout Sponge (beta tested) & HD GS

AM Magnificent Wheel Cleaner scrubbed via synthetic wash mitt

AM Blue Clay Magic w/ AM Body Shine lube – examined with Cellophane which enhances your ability to feel contamination

Dry-sanded complete exterior

Hand dried with cotton towels

All cracks and crevices blown out with Craftsman 1HP / 12 Gallon Compressor

Gotta love claying a car in the rain!!

After the rain stopped, the owner picked up his Aston Martin & I could finish up his Bentley:

The paint was buffed with Menzerna 106ff with a white LC CCS foam pad and then sealed with Einszett Glanz Sealant and 1 coat of Zymol Carbon.

Wheels were slightly corroded, so I decided to have Josh lightly sand them w/ 4000 grit paper. It cleared everything up and then he sealed them with Malco Paint Sealant.

Because the owner’s greatest concern was making the interior like new, every square inch of the interior was scrubbed with AM Special Cleaner (713) via a toothbrush & then completely blown out with compressed air. The leather was then protected with AM Leather Conditioner.

The convertible top was opened up which allowed us to wipe/clean any hidden sections & also see the interior more closely for cleaning.

Finally! In the garage with its cousin:

Nice work David. I'm suprised to see you using Zymol Carbon. How do you like it? Being based on Zymol's pricing structure, its kind of their low end wax and many companys make better waxes at a much nicer price point.

Thanks for detailing my cars for me David!

In all honesty, nice work man! Sure beats the beaters you had to work on in Michigan probably huh?

WOW!!!! GREAT WORK!!!! Is the black 1 yours? Or are they both the owners? I guess he must like them!

Their both mine! Siek - I wish. :bow They actually belong to 2 separate owners. The black one belongs to a past client who's friend's with the owner of the other one. Word of mouth travels fast with Bentley owners.

One day I will have one of those amazing machines! Great job.

Thank you very much. I wish you luck with your goal.

Looking awesome. Do you use a van as a work vehicle? Carry the compressor fine?

Thanks. Depending on what I'm doing, I usually load up all my gear in my Wife's Town & Country. With the 3rd row seats down, I can easily load my Compressor, Power washer, Lights & everything else needed. Everything’s portable and mostly stored in large easy to carry containers.

Excellent job as usual.

Thanks again.

Very very nice. You did a great job and a great attention to detail on that one.

Nice selection to choose from also.

Thank you Josh. The inside actually required more detail work that the exterior. The cream colored leather shows everything. I figure the smaller the brush I used, the less chance for missing spots.

Was the paint on the soft side?

Absolutely, but not as finicky as black. That's a real challenge to work on.

You're right, it is their least expensive wax, but it's still more expensive than 95% of the competition. I hope some day I can try their more expensive lineup. I went through a jar of it about ~10 years ago and decided to try it again. I really enjoy applying & removing it. It's super easy and smells nice too. Works great on all colors as well. Do you have another choice you'd like me to try next? I'd love a donation. :D

(On a side note: I have been experiencing a minor problem with this wax on certain vehicles and I might start a thread to discuss it).

:funnypost

There's no comparison. I figured that the value of all the vehicles I detailed that 1 day, amounted to about as much as the entire used car inventory at one of my largest used car accounts!!! When are you moving down here??

Bentley is disappointing me in the engine department. A twin turbo V12 only puts out 550? Geezzzz, step it up fellas!

Cars look great! You're killing me with the toothbrush, though. Step it up to at least a fingernail brush or something! Gah.

Wow, that's absolute crazy...you sanded the entire vehicle? Did you take any pictures of a fully sanded down car. What did you sand with? What made you want to get so "aggressive"?
