I'm not one to show off brand new cars and try to impress people with their flawless appearance, but I took some pics of my car after a detail this weekend that I thought were pretty darn good. Someone on my Legacy board posted a picture of their car this weekend that really made me realize that I'm doing a pretty good job on mine. Here is what that guy posted:

Talk about major problems! I was quoted recently in AUTOWEEK regarding the paint quality of the LGT and this photo proves it. The dude's process explains it all. Here was his question that he asked:

This is driving me crazy, I have these things that look like thousands and thousands of scratches in my paint that are really visible in direct sunlight (see attached photo). I hose off the car, then I rub it with a soapy tshirt or towel (its not like im using sandpaper...) then hose it off again and do a quick dry-off with another dry t-shirt or towel. I just got a specific car-drying towel and a replacement filter for my MrClean Autodry so I tried using both of those today, and once again the MrClean kinda worked but it looked like there were even more of those little scratches than ever! What am I doing wrong! I feel like an idiot!
The Legacy paint is pretty fragile as it is, so it's just no wonder that he is getting this type of damage from those processes.

Anyway, here are the pictures I took this weekend. I was actually taking them to showcase the smoked covers I put on the corners and tail lights. I sent the design for the corners to Clear Guard and they are putting them into production now. They sent me the smoked tail covers to say thanks for the design. I just think this looks soooooo much better than before. Check out this page for more pictures.

I'm just using straight Wolfgang for now. That is actually only the second layer. The first layer was put on at the end of May after I polished it out. I've been really busy this year and haven't had the time to go nuts on it like I used to. WG has impressed me so much all by itself that I don't even top it with anything anymore. Topping it certianly changes the appearance, but it's not necessarily an improvement as far as I'm concerned. I prefer the look of straight WG.

Well, that is hard to say. My wife's car is still looking good and reacting as if it had WG on it and I haven't added any since April. I generally don't let products wear off of my car. I put a coat on every other month or so to keep it fresh looking. :)

I love the color. Its that color that sold me on the car in the first place. If they didn't have this color then I probably would have waited till they did or bought something else. In fact, I'm even more glad that I got it in 05 since the 06s don't offer the dark grey leather in the Regal Blue anymore.

That is one ugly car...okay so im jealous! With every picture you post it seems as if the paint is getting wetter and wetter. BTW, that is one gorgeous color for that car. Never been a fan of Sub's, but boy does yours really make me question things.

Thanks for the props, guys. I honestly can't take much credit. The color of the car and the Wolfgang should get all the credit. I can't seem to take a bad picture when it comes to that combo. :bigups

I want that exact combo badly! Can you still take the thin paint? That seems to be the only problem I have with the car =(

I'm learning to live with the paint. I just need to remember how thin it is and resist the urge to polish it every weekend. lol

By far not a pro, yet :jump , but I have never washed nor dried a car with t-shirts, you're right, no wonder his paint looks the way it does. Bye the way, your car looks great. Not a blue color fan but looks good.

Jngrbrdman,
