I'm not one to show off brand new cars and try to impress people with their flawless appearance, but I took some pics of my car after a detail this weekend that I thought were pretty darn good. Someone on my Legacy board posted a picture of their car this weekend that really made me realize that I'm doing a pretty good job on mine. Here is what that guy posted:
Talk about major problems! I was quoted recently in AUTOWEEK regarding the paint quality of the LGT and this photo proves it. The dude's process explains it all. Here was his question that he asked:
Anyway, here are the pictures I took this weekend. I was actually taking them to showcase the smoked covers I put on the corners and tail lights. I sent the design for the corners to Clear Guard and they are putting them into production now. They sent me the smoked tail covers to say thanks for the design. I just think this looks soooooo much better than before. Check out this page for more pictures.

The Legacy paint is pretty fragile as it is, so it's just no wonder that he is getting this type of damage from those processes. This is driving me crazy, I have these things that look like thousands and thousands of scratches in my paint that are really visible in direct sunlight (see attached photo). I hose off the car, then I rub it with a soapy tshirt or towel (its not like im using sandpaper...) then hose it off again and do a quick dry-off with another dry t-shirt or towel. I just got a specific car-drying towel and a replacement filter for my MrClean Autodry so I tried using both of those today, and once again the MrClean kinda worked but it looked like there were even more of those little scratches than ever! What am I doing wrong! I feel like an idiot!
