2005 Corvette

Note: The artist rendering shown in this thread is 1999 Vette. I know because, it's my project car!



She's currently in the paint booth at Bill Carter Custom Paint. He'll give her her Custom purple pearl paint with ghost flames (paint by

BASF (R-M) Paint Products). She'll also be getting Weld Wheels, BF Goodrich Tires, a Magnuson Supercharger, Billy Boat Exhaust and Baer ES+ Brakes.
 
For those asking about the rear wheel gap, the car has magnetic ride control. with the push of a button you can control the stance.

So its an adjustable suspension then? Kinda like the tbird sc my cus has with the ride control

6 figures ($150,000 to be exact) for a D#MN fine looking automobile with the history (winning the 24hour LeMans,etc) that this car has AND getting well over 560HP at the rear wheels and one helluva suspension to boot?! You better believe I'm saving my pennies. Comparing prices, there is no comparison (Ferrarri, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Lamborghini,etc).

Everyone that says fords are weak, shame on you. They make plenty of power out of those 5.0s and 4.6s. Also a hell of a lot easier to work on and do maitenance compared to fbodys and vettes(no offense taken I hope, love the cars, but everything is crammed up inside).







I like both, but the mustang would be easier for me to work with(although, I wouldn't mind a 6 speed firehawk either ;))





Not trying to start a flame war of ford vs chevy here, but this is based on my facts.

Anyways, GM has a Corvette coming out that is known as the "GT Killer" or "BlueDevil"



The C6 ZO6 will have 500bhp and 480ftlbs(est) however these numbers will be close.
 
i think GM improved the interior of the C6, not so plasticky and cheap looking. i sat in a C5 Z06 at a car show, damn interior looked like something out of a rental car.



and the new Viper looks like a muscular version of the s2000 (just my opinion) while the new C6 looks like a refined version of the C5.



but they can't compare to the new Ford GT!!!!! come on, with it's roots in the GT-40, 500 hp/500 ft-lb of torque, it's a dream come true, especially for those boys who dreamt of driving a GT-40.
 
Blahhh, You have to remember that the ZO6 is a track/performance car, not a luxury vehical. If its luxury/performance you yurn for, buy a Cadillac CTS-V it has the LS6 Engine/Transmission in the body/eligance(sp) of a Cadillac. 405hp Cadillac WOW!



The new Ford GT will be an amazing car, however lets not forget that the horsepower wars are back and GM is looking to win the battle once again.:D

The GT recently underwent high speed testing on a track in Italy and hit a top speed of 205 MPH

A few weeks ago I was at the American LeMans Series Race up at Mid-Ohio, and there were five or six '05 Corvettes there. They weren't trailered in either, IIRC all of them had Michigan Manufacturer's plates on, and on my way out all of them drove past me. I only remember seeing one convertible, but just seeing pics of them doesnt do them justice, they look much better in person. Of course they sound great too.

Actually, Ford recently upped the GT's horsepower rating to 550.
