2000 Dark Violet Pearl Integra GSR

So I did this DVP Teg for a friend of mine on Saturday. The thing is, this was one of those, "good paint to great paint" things. He is a member over at Team-Integra <--edit* and has learned from Jngrbrdman, StyleTEG, and myself, so his car was already clayed, AIO and SG.

After examining his car, I noticed a plethora of surface scratches...some were very deep as well as some pretty deep swirls on the horizontal surfaces. He bought this car off a lease and it was a gem on the interior but the exterior was a wreck, he said. This car was also polished by the Acura dealer he works at back in the fall, but we know how trustworthy they can be :)

Anyways, what I did was:

-Mother's Gold Wash

-Clay Magic Clay

-Mother's Gold Wash

-WW MF Dry

-Spot buff all scratches with Meguiar's #83 DACP and LC Cutting Pad via Rotary @ 1500rpm

-Buff whole car and rims with Meguiar's #82 SFP and LC Cutting Pad via Rotary @ 1500rpm

-Buff whole car with P21S GEPC to remove buffer haze with LC Polishing Pad via Rotary @ 1500rpm

-Klasse AIO (by hand)

-Klasse SG (by hand)

-Old No.7 Chrome Polish on Exhaust

-Rain-X on windows

-Armor All on tires and wheel wells

-303 Aerospace on all rubber/plastic pieces, and front lip (painted with DupliColor bumper paint)

5 hours of work and it came out exceptional. I was very pleased how reflective the DVP paint came out.

Enjoy!

Thanks guys.

The color, I think, is quite amazing. Some call it, "the new black". It's just very rare and is a pleasure to look at when all detailed.

SChweet - GSR 0 Hey man I got my eye on GSR or a Prelude - GSR is a 4 door coupe - which one you think is more "fun" factor

The Integra people are invading! Ahhh!!!

It really does look nice. Different color. A carbon fiber hood that is taken care of and not swirled is something different--more people should try it!

Looks great as usual, Sean. :bigups Great work.

My Accord fits a baby seat in the back more easily then an Integra.

Oh and I have fake wood. How many integras have fake wood? :o

:p

Thanks for all the compliments :)

groebuck: Of course I'm partial to an Integra, but the Prelude has a little more power. It's all in what you want. PM me if you have more questions and also check out www.team-integra.net :)

as rusty as my old GSR was, I miss the 8K redline.

But honestly, after having 3 previous MR2's I missed them dearly! I will not ever NOT own a MR2 I've decided. They are just too much fun.

I'm saving for a turbo motor swap as we speak, and I've got a weekend of 9 cars to detail in Detroit/Ann Arbor next month, so that'll pay for 1/3-1/2 of the swap.

Great job as always GSRStllez.

Sadly, I don't get on TI much anymore, but I do post in the local forum and I see some of those guys all the time.

Keep the pics coming!

as much as I love preludes, stay away from the h22a engine. It burns oil real bad(about 2 quarts in 5000 miles). Only way I would ever get one is if it had a new engine.

VTEC motors are notorious for burning oil, especially the B18C's found in GSR's and Type-R's... "normal" oil consumption should be around 1qt per oilchange (3k miles or so)

Your 2 quarts in 5k miles doesn't sound too unreasonable. My GSR drinks 1qt every 1k miles, but that's because my piston rings are shot :grrr

Anyhow, great work as always on the Integra... I have yet to see a DVP GSR in person - I always see SSBP around here...
