What are your expectations? What are you working on? Is it going to be just for you or are you planning on working on some friend's/family member's vehicles?
Very important information to know to give a good answer...

If your paint is in great shape, I have great luck with the following:
1. Merzerna SF 4500 using a griots 6" -speed 4 -with White cool wave foam pad - slow hand speed
2. Blackfire wet diamond with blue pad and griots - speed 2
4. Blackfire Crystal seal - hand applied....
Amazing gloss...
If the paint is in great shape, you can polish by hand and be done before you learn the art of machine polishing.
But, if you're like me and just have to own a machine that sits in the case 50 weeks a year,...then the PC or GG 6 are good choices.
I'm going to have to copy that before Fall.
So my expectations are a tad more shine. i mean can we ever get enough.
I'm working on a Benz 550 Green with tons of flake.
Paint is in great shape. What type of polish would you suggest using by hand?
As a beginner i'd go with the PC7424xp.
Good Luck.
Because you are working by hand I would suggest trying Meg's M205. It is as stronger polish that finishes down very well. I prefer this over Menz 4500 because the Menz is a diminishing abrasives polish and needs to be fully "broken-down" to work properly. With the Meg's M205 you can stop as soon as you get the desired results.
Greetings All: Once again appreciate the feedback! What I think I'm leaning towards is doing half the trunk with either the Griot's or PC and the other half by hand.
What I know best is what I don't know so I certainly don't want to do anything to damage the finish on this car. I may need to do this work under the careful eye of someone with experience.
