Rough morning! My Mazdaspeed got wrecked!

Todd@RUPES

Just a regular guy
Started this morning on the right foot, awake and sending emails, finishing some product copy. Then, for some reason, I decided I wanted coffee. The gas station is 3 minutes from my house, maybe less. Dunkin Donuts coffee was calling my name.. Let's do this.

I hop in my car, drive down the street to the gas station, my mouth yearning for the taste of coffee. Light goes green, I accelerate across the intersection. Then bang. I am hit/t-boned/side swiped (all in one motion) by a Honda Civic (lowered of course).

The pictures don't really do a good job of showing how bad the damage it. Neither side door opens, the wheel is toed out at a severe angle, and the side is caved in.

Oh well! The show must go on!

really sorry to hear that todd. it hurts a lot more when you have taken such good care of your ride as you did. take care of yourself too todd. sometimes injuries to the spine, etc., don't noticeably show up until a month or so later. i was rear ended at a light in a my fairly new pickup with less that 3000 miles. it was repaired, but i always knew the difference from the factory paint. hang in there guy !

That blows Todd... I'm happy your ok though. Take it easy today usually don't feel bad till next day after an impact... Again glad your ok

Sorry Todd! The only thing that is important is that you and the other driver are OK, the rest can be fixed.

But I know it's a hassle no one wants to have

Not the way to start the day.

Listen to your body. If something doesnt feel right, get it looked at. I'm paying for not doing that as age accumulates and it's too late to fix it.

Thanks for the kind words. In my life, everytime something bad happens something better comes along.

As noted I am 100% okay (my arm is a little black and blue but no biggie), my son wasn't in the car, and the young girl who hit me is fine as well. I walked home (its very close to my house), gotta line up a rental car, and keep moving forward.

Thanks again for the kind words.
