Products you dont like.

Black Magic Tire Wet. First tire product I bought because of seeing them use it on Bull Run. Stuff is super greasy and slings when you drive down your driveway.

Mother's Leather Cleaner. Just didn't clean enough for me, would work good for super light clean up though.

Chemical Guys Butter Wet Wax. Okay looks, but terrible durability. (Got the stuff for free, can't complain)

Chemical Guys Wheel Guard. Attracts brake dust like crazy. Good shine though.

I've tried the black magic years ago, and yes it does sling. Smells good though.

I had black magic, vinyl protectant, it sucked! Im try to remember the smell, maybe cherries? Thats the only thing it had going for it!

Dear rzatch & Friends

Forest did a very stand-up thing. I think I'll try a Mothers drying towel when I order again. I have the two Mothers wheel and tire brushes and love their handles and performance.

(I'm two-thirds finished with Meguiars High-Gloss Endurance gel and then I have a whole bottle of Ultima's Tire & Trim Gel. Then I want to try Dodo's Tyromania. It'll be more than a year before I finish those.)

I like the Mother's drying towels for blot drying. They can take some abuse too. Jim(Old Tiger) turned me onto those towels and I am glad he did.

Car Pro Fog Fight - Streaks/Hazes no matter what you do. Can be wiped off with a damp rag, even if not wiped off it only lasts a month or less.

Another less than stellar review for Car pro fog fight. I wonder what they will do to try and remedy the problem.

You know I was just looking at the name of this product and wonder if it isn't some sort of a joke. Maybe the fog fight is really the fog it puts on your window and you fighting to get rid of it.:lmfao

I haven't tried a lot of products but as far as I know, I'd vote for Meg's Scratch X 2.0. This is the most awkward product. when using by hand, it kinda works, but Ultimate compound can do whatever it can do and do better and removing too much clear coat is never a concern when work with hands. when using DA, 105, UC, UP, 205 cover all situations, it simply doesn't have its position. Plus Scratch X2.0 is not designed for large area, and it dusts like hell. Most of all, a small bottle of the thing(6-8 oz?) is unbelievably more expensive than 16 oz of UC or 16oz of UP/ SwirlX. I'd say in Meg's customer line products, Scratch X2.0 is something worthless.

Interesting about the reply to Mother's Back to Black. If it needs to be buffed off why wasn't this noted on the label? Of course if it was I wouldn't have bought it.

Direction #4:

Allow to dry, then buff with a clean terry cloth or microfiber towel. Should any streaking occur, some additional brisk buffing will be required.

Hope this helps.

Out of curiosity, why wouldn't you buy a product that had a helpful instruction like this? Excess product sitting on the surface is going to run when it gets wet.

it seems every product like this everyone says it runs and then another person will say they need buff it out more... your directions are clean and concise. Great job:yourrock

Hey forest, why doesn't california gold clay bar do anything when I use it? I'm still feeling sand paper on the paint even after I've used it. It's making me look bad in front of my customers...

PM me the details and we'll figure it out. I'm in NJ at a show this weekend but I'll be back in the office Monday.

TW Bug & Tar remover - May as well spit on the bugs...
Mothers QD - Lacks lubricity compared to others

Those are the only two I can think of that have noticeably ticked me off.

Let me be one of many hundreds to say that although Meguairs body solvent smells delightful... its pretty awful and there are a dozen better products out there for the job. Tarminator being one of them.

Could it be the clay isn't aggressive enough for what your trying to remove? It works fine for me. I just used it the other day on a 2005 Colbalt that has probably never seen clay. Just a thought to try and help out.

My thoughts also.

Mothers clay works great as long as the fallout isnt excessive .

A more aggressive claybar for you AddictedBling ,would be blackfire polyclay.

Or even more agressive would be the red claymagic. But this will most likely marr the paint.
