crazy car detailing $$$$

I've watched a lot of Paul Daltons videos over the past couple years, looked at his wax, etc. I call bs on it. He has a great maketing firm and strokes the egos of millionares with more money than sense. He puts on a good show, but the worlds best detailer he isn't. There are plenty of members on this forum who can do the same thing that he can, and do it without $2000 wax.

The word best is quite subjective. Paul Dalton is certainly one of the most well paid detailers and one of the most popular on the forums. I have never read or heard any of his clients complaining about his work and Paul's paint correction skills and attention to detail have attributed to this popularity. For those detailing for money, I would suggest learning as much as possible from the Paul Dalton business model. The right combination of marketing, technique and results can equal huge revenue for an auto detailing business and help differentiate the professionals from all the rest.

You don't have to overspend on products or do exactly what he is doing, but it would be realistic for some detailers to double or triple their revenue by appealing to similar clientele.

Of course, every detailer should make an entrance like this :D:

Must be nice to be able to throw out that kind of money on products....But I'm happy enough with the stuff I have I can't see anything being hundreds or thousands of dollars better.

I'm not gonna say he isn't a very good detailer because he is. I would love to make that kind of money and get to work on super cars that aren't even dirty lol. I want to see what he can do with a daily driver. Maybee a soccer moms mini van that's faced the wrath of 3 kids or her husbands work truck that's not been cleaned in 4 years. For a lot of us, this is the money jobs that keep our business open.

I guess that any guy who has an $1100 tub of wax (Crystal Rock) that is credited to him has done some right when it comes to marketing.

All I can say is WOW! Not at the detailing, but at the video composition, production, and editing. That is money making money at its finest.

He has the confidence to charge what he charges and the work shows it.

I have the same confidence as he dose, problem is I can ask that for my work and book NOTHING.

Its really not worth that much but then there are rich people that feel like the more they spend the better its got to be. I need about a dozen of those people on my customer list:D

soooo... he is using all 3M products from what ive seen... 3m car soap.. a sponge to wash the car.. 3m quick wax.. 3m tire dressing... yeah im gonna pay him 10k!

I can assure you that he does not only use 3m products. I am sure they are paying him to endorse their consumer line in that video. If you look at the rest of his videos on youtube you will find that he uses many different manufacturers products. You go where the money is!

i guess no one see's a problem with integrity though.. he is supposed to be the worlds best and charges high amounts of money for his details.. but then customers and other detailels see him promote 7000000 different products.. i guess sometimes there comes a time when money talks.. but if the customer isn't liking what they see.. the money walks lol

tiger woods might hate nike apparel. but for the right amount of money . he sure will wear there stuff.. like i said people will do any thing for money!!!!

I find it interestingly predictable that any mention of Paul Dalton will generate a fair share of ire. I'm not certain why that is. He is not competing with me nor I him. From everything I see from him he seems to be a competent detailer (though I might not employ either his same methods or products) and either an excellent marketer or has connections which do that for him. That video is just excellent! And as they say, it doesn't matter if people are talking good or bad about you...they're talking about you. ;)
