Quick Detailer Use?

CHARLES are you saying that you don't have a problem with using 4-1 mixed 1 ounce in a gallon as a rinse-less wash but you would be afraid to use 3 ounces mixed in 32 ounce of water to do the same thing.
Not in so many words, but I think that would be pretty close to my thoughts.

IMO, we are talking apples to oranges for process.

4 in 1 as a rinseless wash, (1 oz. per gallon), uses a soaking wet wash mit/sponge/MF whatever. that picks up the dirt from the vehicle and releases it in the wash or rinse bucket. The drying towel does just one thing, it dries the surface.

When using S&W, the drying/wiping towel is actually picking up the dirt from the vehicle and retaining it. You need to keep changing to a clean towel surface to prevent marring. The S&W has proven to me that it will pick up that dirt into the towel with no problem.

The 4 in 1 at 3 oz. per 32 oz. of water may do the same thing, but as of now, I'm not yet convinced it will do the same job as the S&W.

I think I'll let someone else continue the experiment for me. :D

Using S&W, ONR, or 4 in 1 would not leave any protection or shine as some QD products do. I find that PB S&G provides some shine and Clearkote QuickShine add some wetness + protection.

My two cents.

I end up using more than wash mitt with ONR. It will not rinse clean in plain water. I have to wash using Dawn before it will release the dirt.

The S&G and thr Clearkote QuickShine are two products I haven't used, but all the other QDs seem to enhance the shine after their use.
I personally think the S&W also enhances the shine when used, but a lot of people keep telling me it is only allowing my LSP to show. :dunno:

I also don't think any of the QDs I have used added any protection. There again, I don't use them enough to really say for sure.

I happen to use 4 in 1 and my rinse bucket is mixed the same as my wash bucket.
Quite a few people feel comfortable with just one bucket of solution and that's really all that 4 in 1 requires. The two bucket method is more of a feel good about doing it thing. :)

As far as the dirty wash mitt, mine don't wash completely clean even in a dawn mixture. It does appear that what is left is more of a stain than dirt that is going to mar the paint.

FWIW, my sea sponge seems to rise cleaner and clean up better than anything else I have used. The grout sponge is probably a close second for cleaning up after it is used.
