512detail
New member
On a whim I decided to offer a 1step essence + Gyeon Cure detail to any member in our car club over labor day. It was a paid holiday from work for me so I wanted to fill the day with a detail.
The taker was our current Ride of the month (rotm), a `16? Challenger (v6-but fully loaded with leather, etc)
Vehicle arrived
In the recent past I have turned her onto Poorboy`s products and she has purchased several of them like LNR and S&G and DMTs.
She won a few shows with the Nattys on there too.
when she dropped the car, I kind of already had a feeling I might go a little overboard as Jazz Blue is a first detail for me, and probably the only color I`d ever take over metallic black. So i wanted to know what my (potential) jazz blue could look like.
Vehicle was not really in the 1step range once I stripped it.
Wash:
P101 2bm gg wb
Ferrex
Nanoskin fine sponge and uber as lube
Wheels:
Ferrex, brushes, blaster dried, p808 twice
Glass: opt glass cleaner/protectant
Perl on trim
Bold n bright on tires
P808 on exhaust tips
The cut:
This was fine on the lower portion, corrected well and only left a little bit of deep marring
above the crease, however, it was a different story and I couldn`t let a friend`s car leave my garage without a littlw bit extra.
I recieved permission to keep the car overnight so I didn`t have to work non stop.
I then proceeded to use BF SRC compound and a blue Rupes pad on the hood, roof, trunk, and sides above the crease
followed that up with the same combo as listed previously
To be honest I was surprised how good the green pad worked with essence
I only did 1 pass with the SRC, probably could have gotten a little better results with another pass or two but i was satisfied with the results considering this was already above the call of duty.
Here`s some before after
After
you can see there is some marring left but that was much improved
before
after
life saver!
Pretty paint
A few garage shots
Oh the silver is all painted and cleared btw, but I did not polish it. I used black label surface cleansing polish to prep for the LSP
Which was my crown jewel
it kept raining once I was done so I ended up putting 3 coats of Synergy on there, the second two were 12 hours after the first layer
3pm Sun shots
Thanks for viewing
