Bat Shine Crazy : Jazz Blue Challenger with Synergy

512detail

New member
On a whim I decided to offer a 1step essence + Gyeon Cure detail to any member in our car club over labor day. It was a paid holiday from work for me so I wanted to fill the day with a detail.

The taker was our current Ride of the month (rotm), a `16? Challenger (v6-but fully loaded with leather, etc)

Vehicle arrived

In the recent past I have turned her onto Poorboy`s products and she has purchased several of them like LNR and S&G and DMTs.

She won a few shows with the Nattys on there too.

when she dropped the car, I kind of already had a feeling I might go a little overboard as Jazz Blue is a first detail for me, and probably the only color I`d ever take over metallic black. So i wanted to know what my (potential) jazz blue could look like.

Vehicle was not really in the 1step range once I stripped it.

Wash:
P101 2bm gg wb
Ferrex
Nanoskin fine sponge and uber as lube

Wheels:
Ferrex, brushes, blaster dried, p808 twice

Glass: opt glass cleaner/protectant
Perl on trim
Bold n bright on tires
P808 on exhaust tips

The cut:

This was fine on the lower portion, corrected well and only left a little bit of deep marring

above the crease, however, it was a different story and I couldn`t let a friend`s car leave my garage without a littlw bit extra.
I recieved permission to keep the car overnight so I didn`t have to work non stop.

I then proceeded to use BF SRC compound and a blue Rupes pad on the hood, roof, trunk, and sides above the crease
followed that up with the same combo as listed previously
To be honest I was surprised how good the green pad worked with essence

I only did 1 pass with the SRC, probably could have gotten a little better results with another pass or two but i was satisfied with the results considering this was already above the call of duty.

Here`s some before after

you can see there is some marring left but that was much improved

Oh the silver is all painted and cleared btw, but I did not polish it. I used black label surface cleansing polish to prep for the LSP

Which was my crown jewel

it kept raining once I was done so I ended up putting 3 coats of Synergy on there, the second two were 12 hours after the first layer

Looking good !!!

3 coats? hhmmmmmmm trying to get my title....... :D j/k

Offered? as in free? (operative word = she)

That is an awesome color. It looks great. I always think I`ll get a little tired of the challengers but you somehow find a way to make it exciting!

Nice Batman choice... Animated Series is the best...

:o god no... I offered the detail for the same exact amount I would have made working OT that day (Monday)

yea 3 coats.. it actually filled much better than I was expecting... I was having a good time jamming out in the garage anyways and I really love using Synergy- forgot how much I enjoy using it.

that was only the second time I have used it this year

I`ll never get tired of working on Modern Mopars

I was wonder how long it took to tape the Batman decal. Honestly, that is "quite" a detailed tape job (no pun intended)!!! Are the Batman decals a factory option or an owner add-on??

Another question is why you chose to use Synergy?? Don`t get me wrong, I like waxes. Just was wondering if the blue metal flake had any bearing on the choice.

And, as always, excellent post, pictures, and result.

I have yet to find a wax that makes metallic look better than Synergy. PBL`s coating makes metallic really pop- Synergy has got some of that in it
Souveran makes anything shine- Synergy`s `nuba has a foundation based on that knowledge/chemistry

my 200 some odd days of Essence topper testing that nobody really seemed to care about Yielded ME a lot of knowledge of what works with Essence well and what doesn`t

match made in detailing heaven

I have had that jar since it came out- I think I`ve gotten 12 or 15 applications so far.

I chose synergy because I wanted that car, the ROTM to REALLY Shine...especially since it has a prime spot at our Tower Of The Americas car show Saturday :)

plus the owner is a really nice lady and she literally has a black book that she writes down all my product recommendations in! you gotta love that

the decals are all custom PAINTED, not vinyl junk...very well done too... VERY well done

taping off--- 37 mins for the passenger side (from walking into garage, taping off, 1 step with essence on my nano w/two different size ext as needed, removing and taking another pic

the driver side I did not time but it took me longer because I tried to do it better than the passenger side (pictured)

sadly the template I made for the passenger side would not go on the driver side as the sticker is the other direction, lol

oh via DoDo supernatural finger wax applicator - been using the same one for years

I found 6 unopened in a drawer in my bedroom- lol

hoard much?

I`m not concerned about hording (I do), but it`s where you found them.........................

not as bad as it sounds Ron.. I turned my spare (3rd) bedroom into a car detailing product storage room... I repurposed an old dresser/armua thing by taking the doors off and it has three drawers in it..where apparently last year I put a whole lot of wax applicator pads! I found 5 sets of buff and shine applicators and a lot of gold circle applicators too

Great job, that custom Batman paint job looks great. What size nano pad did you use near the cowl area(by windshield)?
