Again I would like to thank Dave and everyone else at 3D/HD for making this giveaway possible. I have been using HD products for a little over a year now starting with HD Polish (which I recommend) and about 6+ months ago started using HD Adapt (which I HIGHLY recommend). So when this giveaway came up I was very happy to jump on and give another one of there products a try. On to the review......
Starting out from the shipping and bottle itself, the bottle was very secure inside the shipping box with bubble wrap completely surrounding it. I really like the bottle and the nozzle on the end. No mess whatsoever and no wasted product. Initial smell I thought maybe a fabric softener but my wife said bug spray. I guess I'm no good at pin pointing some smells .
The product claims:
HYBRID PAINT PROTECTION
-MONTAN WAX & SEALANT
-LONG LASTING
-EASY TO USE
HD Poxy, is a hybrid paint sealant/wax that has been designed to bond to the painted surface for protection and a long lasting durable shine.
Its montan wax properties will darken the appearance and create depth for the ultimate wet-look shine.
Works exceptionally well on all colors including black and dark color paints.
Unlike any wax available HD Poxy will give you a deep, glossy finish while protecting against the natural effects of Mother Nature, bird droppings, acid rain, hard water deposits and many other adverse paint challenges.
Crafted from Mined Fossilized Montan Wax HD POXY is the highest heat resistant wax on the market.
Carnauba Wax melts at 187 ° F, whereas Montan Wax melting point is 203°F.
Directions:
Shake Well Before Use. Apply, in a cool place, 6-8 pea sized drops on to an applicator pad of your choice and work on a 2’ by 2’ area. For best results use HD Pads. Apply a thin layer of product over the entire painted surface using a DA Random Orbital Polisher (slow speed).
To achieve the highest protection and bonding, allow the product to cure for 30 to 45 minutes before buffing off.
Wipe using a clean dry micro fiber towel and buff to an extremely high gloss finish.
You may re-apply every 3-4 months depending on the usage and maintenance of the car.
Price on HD Car Care:
$14.99-$69.99
(16oz)-(1Gal)
HD Poxy was applied using an LC Black Pad via PC on speed 3 in my garage. I started out by using directions on the bottle. I did 7 peas to start out and 5 or 6 after start up.
HD Poxy spread very nice and even over all panels. After applying to the car I pulled the car out into the driveway (around 70° outside) and let the product sit for about 40 minutes per the directions. Wipe-off was extremely easy and took almost no pressure at all. I didn't notice much darkening if any but silver isn't really a good color to test it out on. I also didn't notice any filling but I'm not sure if it is supposed to have any filling capabilities. The paint does feel slicker but is not very slick. I did apply this 4+ weeks ago so I could test some durability and it is holding up just fine over weekly washes and still looks good. I would like to do another coat in the summer to see how it holds up to the Southern California heat.
HD Poxy Beading
In conclusion:
So far I would recommend this product to everyone however I will do my best to update the overall durability. Thanks for looking.
