Zymol leather cleaner and conditioner?

Garry Dean

Garry Dean Quality!
I was at Target today picking up some MF's and I noticed that they have Zymol leather cleaner and conditioner there for $6.72 each.

I want to try some new leather conditioners. I generally use Lexol and am ok with the results I get, but I want to try some new products.

Have you used the Zymol leather products?

What is your favorite leather cleaner and leather conditioner?

If it's Zymol Treat, then it's a great deal. I use the Zymol treat sometimes. It leaves a very very even finish, looks great, but doesn't actually make the leather very supple like some other leather conditioners.

The Zymol leather cleaners and conditioners are made by TW (Turtle Wax).

Zymol Treat is the real Zymol leather conditioner.

There are much better leather conditioners.

There is Sonus Leather Conditioner, Zaino "Leather in a Bottle", Leather Master etc.

Lexol, being really a tack/saddle condtioner that was reformulated due to the car nich, is not what I'd use on car leather.

To be quite honest, good old Woolite and distilled water is a great leather cleaner as most leather cleaners are nothing more than just that, but add coloring and fragence etc.

Most leather today is treated and has a coating not too much different from paint. Otherwise, you get color bleeding and staining more often with old leather, which much as you know in seeing older cars crack and have very distinct looking hides. Those require different products heavy in solvents and oils to treat.

You want something lighter, no solvents, some that may have leather smells, or others that bring out the natural leather odor.

Keep the Lexol for home use and go and get some leather condtioners made sstrickly for car leather.

Treat is a nice product, better before it was reformulated IMO.

The kit from Target isnt acutally that bad, the leather cleaner goes ok and the conditioner (protectant) requires a bit of buffing to get it to a matt look. Its not better or no worse then the Meguiars twins (with "aloe").

Always have to say it, if you want a good product over the counter check out the Mothers leather care in the red bottles.

What about something that isn't 'OTC'? I've been using the Zymol from Target and was alright withe results but felt there had to be something better. It's definitely better than nothing at all and leaps and bounds above many of the other products like ArmorAll junk.

I've been considering the Leatherique Pristine Clean and Rejuvenator Oil; anyone have an opinion about these two products?
