Is it neccasary to use the ZFX everytime I apply Z5 or Z2?



The first two coats of each that I applied were mixed with the ZFX.
 
What do you guys do about the 2 ounce bottles that come with the ZFX? I tried cleaning them out with a detergent but there was still a residue left over. I checked wal-mart and target and they didn't have any 2 ounce bottles.



Do the already used Zaino bottles need to be completely clean before using again?
 
I jam a paper towel into the bottle and swirl it inside to get the majority of the Z2/Z5 clinging to the sides of the bottle and then put in heavy concentration on Dawn (or other), pop the top back on and shake it for a mintue or two. Dump it out and then jam another paper towel back in to wipe it cleaner. I do that about 2x and then do it one more time with it 1/4 full of ISO and wipe with a paper towel. Its a pain but they will come clean. The paper towel will wipe under the upper lip of the bottle which never comes clean if your just shaking and rinsing. I also use cotton swabs to wipe out anything the paper towell did not get.



You should be able to find 3oz bottles @ $0.50 each in the health & beauty section of Walmart. They are in bins with other 'travel' size bottles/sprayers. I get 3oz misters @ $1.50 each and flip-top soap containers @ $1.50 each for holding claybars there too.

- Once every 10 times you apply Z-2p/Z-5p/Z-3 (right out of the bottle)

- Once every 6 months on a daily driver

- Once every 12 months on a show car (that doesn't see much drive time and exposure to the weather)



I use a mixture of dishwasher soap (e.g., Electrasol) and water. It's stronger than regular dish soap (e.g., Dawn)

Yes.......An old toothbrush and dawn with hot water works pretty well on the two oz. bottles that come with the kit........

Don't get mad.....I use ZFX every time too. I also always do two back to back coats. A couple of drops for about a half ounce and shake away. I enjoy the process......

Where did you get these rules?



They look off to me...You should use ZFX whenever you want to layer.
 
Werd, it says to use it on every coat except your last one for the day.



You can get replacement bottles from tapplastics.com, look in the containers section.
 
So you can get away without using ZFX at all if you're willing to just put on one coat and wait a day or more between layers?
 
Will the regular Z5 benefit from ZFX? Please tell me it will or I just wasted ALOT of time tonight!

i did 1 coat of z2p without zfx 3 months ago, no z8 either, its still rockin.



as for cleanin the bottles, just put some APC in there and rinse, they dont have to look new.

ZFX will have a positive curing / bond strengthening effect on all versions of Z2 and Z5.



ZFX also speeds up the curing of Z8.:hifive:

Check the Zaino site and the application instructions for ZFX.



You can layer Z-2p/Z-5p/Z-3 but you have to wait 8 hours between coats WITHOUT ZFX. You need the initial base with an activator (defunct Z-1/ZFX/Z-AIO/Z-CS).



Absolutely.... you can use ZFX on every application. That's not a problem.
 
For cleaning, I dump any leftover product out of the bottle and then fill it about 1/3 with 91% Isopropal alcohol. Shake it a bit, dump it and repeat. Then I wash once more with Dawn to get out any leftover alcohol.



They come out sparkling clean every time! :D

No. Z8 is used to moisten the applicator for an easier application of the Z2/5/ZFX instead of Z6. Z8 is a spray sealant that in itself must cure. The ZFX'd Z2/5 seems to make the Z8 cure as quickly as the sealant applied.



Z8 applied over a freshly applied coat of ZFX'd Z2/5 will not be effected. But a drop of ZFX in an ounce or 2 of Z8 does cause Z8 to almost instantly evolve it full appearance characteristics. :2thumbs:
