After reading everything I could from this forum and buying all the neccessary equipment, I washed and Zaino'd my car for the first time. Put 2 coats of Z2/ZFX on with Z6 in between. Let me know what you think

Well technically aren't they same car underneath? Infinity is just nissan's luxury division just like Lexus and Toyota, Honda and Acura. Oh and by the way good job :xyxthumbs .

Yeah, I take that as a ..... nevermind. Proud owner of a G35 sedan too - '06. I test drove about 25 cars to reach my conclusion. There is hardly anything common with the Altima. Believe me... The floor pan for the G35 is the FX midship -it's LONGER. The G35 is rearwheel drive. That's a huge difference - better weight distribution, better ride. The engine is completely tuned differently for the G35 which makes for a much more powerful engine. The G35 is much more similar in ride and looks to a BMW 3 series, which I used to own. You read the Infinity company literature and their CEO is perfectly frank with the analysts that the number 1 target for G35 is the BMW 3 series.

There are not too many common parts, the only one I can think of is the oil filter. Not even the spark plugs are the same. This comes up in the G35 forums where G35 owners want to save a few service bucks by going into a Nissan dealership.

I thought it shared a platform with the Maxima

No! G35s are on the FX-Midship platform. Longer wheel base. Maxima is FWD. The FX platform is optimized for rear-wheel drive and thus it's no surprise that the successful G35 sedan/coupe lends its FM (front mid-ship) platform to the FX. Yes, there are a few shared minor parts but each vehicle has it's own unique identity inside the cabin, and its own singular driving experience.

Only the 350Z, G35 (sedan & coupe) and the SUV FX-35 share the FX-FM platform.

At any rate, the subtle changes in the new G make it an improvement over the old. I saw a new one next to an old one the other day, and there is no comparison in the looks department. It's like buying a damn computer when you buy a car nowadays...

Yes, version 2.0 does make some cosmetic changes and some HP changes. Nevertheless, it rides on the same floorpan - the FX/FM. The wheelbase length on the G35 is the same as my Jag XJ6.

Great work, love the car too :)!

Don't forget to dress those wells, though...it really liquifies the whole look.

Thanks for all the comments. I was expecting more critiques than commets ;0). Truth be told, I didn't even clean the wells let alone dress them haha. That'll be something I'll have to look into.

KT: Nice ride. If I was a sedan person it would be a back/forth between this and a E-Class. You're also lucky that that you're starting off with a fresh paint..you know where it's been. Good luck.
