Zaino'd black 350z

Nice work!! Were you able to get that brake dust off? I had some stubborn dust on my wheels. I lightly tried Megs NXT metal polish and it still wouldn't come off. Then I found some Megs Wheel Brightener at my local Body Shop Supply store and it just ate that dust for breakfast. Also ate up all the dust on the inside of my rims.

Nice work. You can try Z-PC on your wheels since you already have it. Rub it in with a cotton towel.

You won't get that ultra-rich depth with the Zaino system, but you do get plenty of other things.

claybar worked just fine on it, i tested a small area earlier. I'll clay all the wheels next time i wash it.

If you're after almost silly wetness you might consider some Natty's Blue, too. Just a thought. Awesome job, btw. :)

crazy wetness and depth are my goals. Natty's blue, souveran, and possibly some carnuba jett that scottwax suggested are things i'll try in the future.

Just make sure you put that bar of clay to the side so you know you used it on wheels. You don't want to use it on your paint now that it has brake dust in it.

it was a finished claybar from claying the car a few days ago, it was going in the trash either way but now it has one last use.

I am ****ing pissed off. I went downtown tonight for a few hours, and my detail job is ruined. I parked my car under a tree in front of a church and there is bird **** all over everything. The roof, hood, and sides have bird bombs all over them and there is nothing i can do about it until i wake up tommorow. There must be at least 20 bird ***** on my car now. :wall :angry This the last time i ever park my car under a tree.

clay bar may work but it is an ineffective coslty way and also not very fast in cutting increasing the time in desired results.

not a big deal as this is a car detailing forum for those who are car washing/cleaning enthusiasts and detailers.. i can't tell you how many people's car i do and send them into snow storms where the complete finish gets all caked on with road grime within minutes

Car looks very good.

I would've stuck with Z5 if you wanted all depth. Layer it to about 6 and you'll be pretty amazed. I found the Z2's (pro and standard) to take a little depth away.

For the wheels, try an older piece of clay (you will need to throw it out once done).

Glad to hear the clay worked.

As far as the bird bombs, just hose them off asap and wipe down with a QD. For one or two spots you can just soak them good with a QD and leave a damp MF over them for 5-10 mintues then it should wipe right up. Many on here keep a small bottle of QD and a few MFs for just such an occassion.

I find that parking under a tree, power lines, street lamps, or parking lot lamps almost always results in bird bombs, unfortunately the best spots at the ends and sides of parking lots are usually where the landscapers put the trees. :doh

Thanks for the close ups, the OP doesn't look too bad. Do you have a clear bra? I ask because the 35anni. in yellow at the dealer already had several paint chips in the lower lip from test drives. I would hate to see it after a year of driving! :sadpace:

You should really enjoy the Menzerna line. I know I do and I'm still learning how to use it and the PC.

i dont have a clear bra, but i do have a million rock chips. I've had my front bumper replaced and repainted 3 times on this car already, rock chips are unavoidable.

Lol, perhaps a clear bra is in your future. Seems it would be much cheaper than replacing/repainting your bumper!

For a dark colored show vehicle I would stick with carnauba. While Z-8 does add significant depth to the Z products I still think it falls short in giving that "mile deep" look that a good high end carnauba does.

I agree Mike but I'm glad you said it. ;)

I dont know, I used both Soveran and Z2/ Z5 combo on my black GN. I really couldnt tell the difference. I'll be sticking with Zaino. More durable and retaines some great slickness. :grinno:

I used s100 on my car that had close to 6 coats of z2pro, and it did add a lil bit of clarity to the paint, however with that said, i still wont top zaino with s100 or p21s primarily because of how much dust the car attracted. Maybe if i was in a car show i would add multiple layers of zaino and a caranuba. BUt from my experience, topping zaino with a caranuba attracted too much dust.

Did n e one else here have the same observation?

the replaced/repainted bumpers were something different. First repaint happened 3 days after i bought the car, flying piece of 2x4 struck the front bumper. Second time my car was backed into while parked in front of my friends house late at night. Third time was a flying piece of tire carcass on I-45 on my way to galveston.
