Zaino

If you were to buy the Zaino ultimate package, How many cars do you think you could do before restocking your supply? Or, Is this not a process to use on everyday cars and go with something cheaper but just as good? What other product would compare to Zaino?

If you're referring to the Zaino Ultimate Protection Show Car Kit, that contains 16 oz of sealant, which can easily do 16 multi-layer applications. There is no prep material in that kit (other than clay), so you will need something additional for prep.

You will get plenty of argument as to whether this is "a process to use on everyday cars". One side of the argument could be that because it lasts a long time, it's good to use on a daily driver, while others could argue it another way.

Another product that some think compares with Zaino is Duragloss. You may be able to find those products locally which can be an advantage over Zaino.

Just ZAIO and either Z2 or Z5 would do the average car 20-30 times, the leather dressing and Z6 about half that.

There are a lot of products as good or better than Zaino. If you want the Zaino look and durability, you can't go wrong with Duragloss products which are available at some auto parts stores at about 50-75% of the price of Zaino products. Other options would be products like Werkstat or Optimum.

If you keep your applications thin, you can get at least 50 coats of zaino out of the 16oz bottle. My favorite product from Zaino is Z8. Apply Z8 after every wash and your car will always look great and have excellent durability.

You mean out of the two 8 oz bottles, right? Or do you mean 50 coats from 8 oz (which I can also see, if it's thin and not an Excursion).

I have said before that if you have a good Zaino base, wash with Z-7, and Z-8 after every wash, that you might never have to redo your vehicle.

:o :lol

Yes thank you!

I can usually get 3 coats from 1/3 to 1/2 oz, but for a Zaino newb it takes some time to learn, "Thin for the win."

I know you dont want to hear this but if you are looking to save some money, you cant go wrong with Duragloss, even though they donthave fancy packaging. Ithink most would agree that their products are very very similar to Zaino.

Id probably guess about 25 applications from a bottle of Z2

I only have Zaino because a guy on craigslist was selling it here locally. Z2, Z5, clay, Z6. and Z8.

I wanted to try it and see how long it would last. I was so busy doing other cars, I didn't want to spend a bunch of time on my own. An occassional Z6 wipedown and thats it.

I went months without doing anything to it(2 coats of Z5, 2 coats of Z2) But as someone here mentioned before in another thread, Zaino has a hard shiney look to it.

Not really a lot of depth. Durable is heck,

but like Scott said, so are others for the fraction of the price.

Since there are few folks recommending Duragloss as a comparable product to the Zinio, which products would you specifically recommend?

101, 105, Aquawax and their leather dressing-which smells just like Z10.

DG 921 is identical to Z6, and since I can get it for $20 a gallon at Carquest, its an easy choice. I just got some 111, which is supposed to be like Z2 Pro, we shall see when I test it, providing I can get some warmer temperatures.

I've used both. 111 lacks the gloss of Z2pro and was much harder to remove. When I used them both, 111 was blue and Z2pro was pink. So unless Duragloss is now buying from Zaino it's not the same.
