Zaino Z8 vs. Mother's FX Spraywax

Is there much of an advantage to Z8 over the Spraywax? I have Spraywax and like it alot, and plus the $20 price tag on the Z8 is scary. Is it worth the extra $10-$15 for the Z8??

Not if you're happy with the finish of the Mother's. Add $8 or $9 to the $20 price tag for shipping, too.

Having said that, Z8 is awesome over Z2/Z5 and even some other sealants like NXT and AJ.

When I'm in my Zaino phases where all I will use is Zaino, I will ALWAYS have a bottle of Z8. When I'm using other product lines, I'm just as happy without it.

Flat out NO! Stick with the Mothers FX Spray Wax, it's an amazing product and a bargain for what it does. IMO it fills the exact same purpose as Z8 and it performs just as well. Z8 is a nice product, but it does no better than FX and it's ludicrously priced.

The problem I'm running into is that there's always a Zaino distributor at the carshow I'm going to this weekend. I've got Z2 (not pro) but no ZFX or Z1. I'm definitely gonna pick up some ZFX so I can use it again. I'm happy with the Spraywax, but I've never used Z8.

I just picked up some FX spray wax and I'm not overly impressed with the looks. I lost some depth for pure shine and reflection. It was very easy to use though.

IMO Z8 rocks and I have used it over AJ and even carnuba. But like some have said it does not really "show up" till the next day. I have never used FX.

That is exactly what FX is for: shine and reflectivity. For a warm, deep gloss use Reflections. Always choose the right product for the desired effect.

Nevertheless, FX is an awesome product line!

Yea, I knew what I was getting into, the relections seemed so thick when I shook the bottle. I don't want a difficult time with a spray product, so I went with the FX. I only used a few squirts for the whole car, maybe I'll see if I can return it for the relections.

I've been using the FX line for almost a year and am very pleased with it. The shine is incredible, and I've gotten ~5 months durability with washing every two weeks or so and only one spraywax application at about 4 months, and this is on a daily driver that's outside 24/7. It looks great on darker metallics, but I've found on my finacee's Nissan (molten silver metallic) it mutes the flakes. I just put Collinite 845 on the car last weekend and the flakes are back. My wallett can't afford to go blow $20 on something that looks as good as something I already have.

I like the sample idea, I may try that out!

That' correct, the Reflections spray wax is a thick liquid and it is not as easy to use as FX. You have to let it haze then remove. Otherwise, superb product!

I use IW + FX Spraywax on my silver IS300 and like the results. I'm going to try out E1 Nano Spray instead of FX on my next wash.

I guess we answered his question indirectly.

FX does not equal Z8

FX give great reflectivity at the expense of depth and warmth at a great price (OTC in most areas)

Z8 produces great reflectivity, when used with Z sealant, and also adds depth and warmth but at a higher price.

Normally more features cost more money. :nixweiss

If you use Z-2 Pro or Z-5, then you want to spend the extra money and get the Z-8. It is formulated for the Zaino sealants whereas FX is not.

Thanks for all the replys, my question has been answered. I've just gotta decide if it's worth it to me to pay the extra money. There was no doubt in my mind before I made this post that Z8 was better. It's up to me if it's worth the difference. Maybe I can talk the distributor into a sample!

I agree FX is no equal to Z8. IMO it's like trying to compare a Rolex to a Timex. You can't buy a Rolex at Walmart( Zaino neither). There are reasons for this. While FX is a good line

IMO they are not comparable.

You decide.

In my eyes, FX is shinier and more reflective, hence the flakes mute and loss of depth. If you want a better balance, FK1 #425 might be a better fit, or if you are not afraid to try mothers reflections spray wax, it is as deep as you can get in a spray/booster wax with almost al the shine from FX.

If your car is plain silver, FX is what you want. If you want flakes, FK1 #425 is for you.
