Zaino Z7 or not.

Guys I managed to put 5 coats of Z2 pro/EFX since last Thuesday. Unfortunatelly, when I drove the car out, it rained after 20 miles (kind of quick showing off the shine). Time for a wash. I did not order the Z7. The question is.......if I use other high quality shampoo such as Sonus, Sonax, P21s or Poorboys SSS and then continue adding more Z2 pro (my latest addiction :D ). Are these shampoo okay to use without jeopardize bonding issue?

They are fine as long as they are a pure soap, the dont contain carnumbas, polomers, or teflons. I always use Megs Gold class when using Zaino and never had issues.

What about Meg GC with conditioner that I have? Do you think the conditioner may cause problem for adding more Z2 pro? Just what to make sure the coming 6 coats+?

I think the Sonus would be okay. That would be my choice to use instead of Z7, until you could get some Z7.

Just stay away from soaps that contain wax. I use EO and NXT wash soap on Zaino with no problems, but do try the Z7, although a little expensive it is a very good soap.

I would agree. There are probably some other soaps that you could get away with. However, in the end, the Z7 is probably your best bet.......... and a fine car wash.

What is the mixing ratio? How many oz per gallon?

Z website said one cap full to per gallon of water.

What is the size of the Z7? 16oz?

you have 5 coats on already-and you want to add more? what's the purpose other than wasting product? if Zaino is so good why do you need 11 coats:confused:

ON the layers .. I've never used more than 6 layers (old Z2). After the 3rd layer I did not see a difference. I applied the addition 3 layers for durability and they lasted for 9 months; more than I would ever need.

From all accounts, Z2 Pro requires fewer layers to look good, often one or two layers will "max out" any improvement in looks. Either way, I do not see any reason to apply more than a few layers of Z2 Pro (except that it is so easy and relaxing).

On the old Z I noticed that it peaked around 4-5 layers. But since IMO its fun to do I still added a layer about once every 2 weeks lol

Exactly. The shine is no doubt, very slick and shine. It is just fun to apply (WOWO). Nothing wrong with the product. Layering addiction is the blame.

Beside I am just curious testing the Zaino between 5 layers and 10 layers. Once you done the prep work right (clay, polish and dawn wash before Z), the Z is piece of cake to apply. :D

One more thing. EFX is the cause of layering. It make multi- layers possible within 30 minutes time frame. You can't beat that. No waiting.

Why layer?

Because it is fun and also it is hard to break the carnuaba habit of always adding protection and appearance enhancers.

I told Sal once that the biggest problem with his product is that it creates boredom. The appearance and protection last seemingly forever when you are used to constantly rejuveniating that just waxed look with other protectants or QD's.

:lol ... A few of us in this thread are gonna have some real fun layering stuff when Zaino releases the new spray sealant that is in the works, myself included!

I used to layer 3M IHG every 2 weeks after wash for my toy. IHG give very wet looks, too. But it is hard to buff off, whiting trims and does not last long.
