I just did the tests!!!!!
It was hot, ands the surface was hot to the touch, a big NO for rotary and 3M Finesse It II. I did it anyway (after a wash with Meguiar's Gold class, cooled the surface down a bit, probably enough to prevent me from hurting the paint which is deadly thin.) Swirls were cut down but the deeper ones remained. I did not want to use the rotary anymore. I put it down, wiped off the residue and saw a difference in the paint already. It was more red and relfected things clearer.
I washed with Dawn and dried.
I sectioned off the hood and trunk with 3M's 1 inch blue painters tape.
I did the test as I have listed above in those cheapo drawings.
I left the top half left and right bare, and the middle with Meguiar's #26. I did the bottom with different Zaino combinations. I did the trunk as listed but on the right side just did Klasse AIO and Z2, no SG.
I used foam appicators for the Zaino and Klasse SG. I used a cotton terry covered sponge for the AIO.
My findings.
3M FI II and rotary made the paint very nice. In sunlight I see almost no buffer marks (there was one on the upper right hand corner, more like two buffer like marks, had to look for it to find it.)
I am sure there would have been no buffer marks if I followed up with a finer polish, Meguiar's #9/Menzerna FP with a foam polishing pad (I used a foam cutting pad.)
Hood
The Meguiar's #26 performed just like I have thought, nice red, wet looking finish. Really nice. I then buffed off the Zaino'd sections. JUMPING COW CRAP! Talk about a noticable difference. I have pictures to show the difference of the two because the painters tape made some nice divisible sections (bare paint underneath them when I removed them off the finish.) Really hard to pick it up by camera and you really have to look at the pictures to see the lines, but they are there. If you look at the finish you can see the edges where #26 and Zaino stop and where its just paint (one inch gap.) The Zaino'd sections on the hood look really redder (haha is this even a word?), and wetter than the bare paint. The #26 is between the bare paint and Zaino in terms of wetness. I :bow to the Zaino after looking at this. The Zaino Z2/ZFX, Z1/Z2, and Z2 sections looked all the same. No visible difference between the three. The Z1/Z2 and Z2 wiped off easy. The ZFX section wiped off a little easier than the other two Zaino'd sections.
I will keep looking at the hood over the long run to see how they perform.
I was looking at using Meguiar's Gold Class Shampoo as a wash.
Trunk.
Klasse AIO and SG section didn't do much for the paint. It was a LITTLE redder but not much, I had to really look to see the difference. The camera did not pick it up, figures......my eyes could barely see it. The Klasse AIO and Z2 side. JUMPING COW CRAP! what a difference!!!! The camera picked this up in a flash. You can clearly see where Klasse AIO/Z2 ends and where bare paint begins.
This is all my point of view right now. I have got to had it to my Zaino. It looks great. The Meguiar's #26 performed decent, but nothing spectacular.
I will keep this test updated whenever I am home and I wash the car (Wednesday is the update days since that the only time the car is home.)
I am interested in how well the Klasse AIO/Z2 section performs too Bruce Peter.
Updates to come!
