Zaino Z-6

Can I use Z-6 over a carnuba based wax? Will it remove a carnuba wax?

I'm trying to reduce the number of products. I'm using Zaino on my truck and S100 on the wife's Jeep.

Thanks!

I don't believe there is any type of cleaner in Z6. Should be fine.

The question then becomes, why not use a Quick Detailer with some carnuba in it rather than using Z6?

Which wax are you intending on using Z6 with?

On my Zaino car, I wouldn't think of using any QD but Z6. But, as expensive as it is, why would you use it on a regular carnauba? :nixweiss

I've used Z6 over S100 before (ran out of my non-Zaino QD at the time), and it seemed to work just fine, definitely looked great. Kinda pricey to use all the time, though, when so many other less-expensive QDs work well on carnauba.

Give it a try, see if you like it. It shouldn't hurt anything except your wallet . . .

Ive heard you can cut the Zaino spray 1:1 with distilled water and achieve same results.

Done it and its ok!

Can you give an example? I'm looking for one right now. I've used Z6 over it but it does get expensive pretty fast and I'm looking for alternatives.

Thanks,

Karim

Meguiars #34 final inspection

QD's:

Megs Final Inspection, Last Touch

Clearkote Quick Shine

Pinnacle Crystal Mist

Poorboy's QD+

1Z Lackfinish

And many more. All above are easy to obtain. The Last Touch is Meguiar's newest in the Detailer line. Any of these work well.

Deanski

This can't be said enough. I've gotten a ton of QD's, but end up reaching for FD almost every time. *Great* shine, never smears or streaks, cheap, and smells awesome. I'm hoping they didn't change it too much for Last Touch

Don't forget Final Detail by Meg. $16 a gallon for a wonderful QD especially on carnaubas. :xyxthumbs

Meguiar's Final Detail in the "Detailer" line has now been "improved" and now called Meguiar's Last Touch. They just "improved" it and made it VOC compliant untill 2008 as per Mike Phillips.

I'm sure distributors/dealers may have some Final Detail left in stock. Go and help them remove it from their inventory to yours! You'll be glad you did!

Deanski

~One man’s opinion / observations ~

Pinnacle Souverän Wax- this ivory Carnauba wax contains natural oils that provide a deep gloss, and a ‘wet-look’ to the paint film surface, ideal for Red, Black or Porsche Speed Yellow and dark vehicle colours, use Crystal Mist as a quick detailer.

~Hope this helps~

Karim,

Looks like everyone else chimed in with QD recommendations. I'd add Poorboy's Spray & Wipe to the list, too; it seems to work equally well with carnaubas or sealants, in my experience.

Under Z6 product description:

Please note: Some customers have a difficult time using Z-6â„¢ Ultra Clean in it's extremely high concentration. You may find that diluting Z-6â„¢ Ultra Clean with distilled water up to a ratio of 1 to 1 will help you get the best results. Start diluting small proportions and test until you find it works the best for how you apply the product. This will definitely make Z-6â„¢ Ultra Clean more user friendly for you and give you more bang for your buck!

I'm a fan of Meg's FI. Use it over anything. Only time I really use Z6 is when I'm applying Zaino and maybe a few washes after. Too bad they don't sell Z6 in the gallon size....or Z7 for that matter. :(

In terms of QD, I like Wizard's Mist and Shine, Mother's Showtime, as well as Clearkote Quickshine. Work well on wax, and as far as I know, are Zaino safe! I will have to find some last touch somewhere!
