Zaino Z-6 and many coats

I understand that Zaino Z-6 is a quick detailer. But does it also give any protection? Is it worth putting on a quick spray a couple times a week, or does it just clean?

It is stated to add a small amount of protection to you're Z layers along with Z7 wash. Its a very minimal amount though, doesn't replace the application of Z-2/3/5. The Z-6/7 helps prolong the Z though....

Thanks. I did the Z2 w/the additive (forget the initials) then the z6 three times this weekend. Can you answer though am I better off washing or using the Z6? I would assume using Z6 leaves it looking better.

The enemy of the car's finish is dirt/dust, anything abrasive. If it's a little dusty, the QD is probably OK. Once it's not "zing"ing anymore, or you sense the dreaded "road film" or have particles so large you can actually see them, or have significant bug/sap/etc., then it's time for a wash. But a careful wash, using the Autopian 2-bucket (or the Lynn 3-bucket/4-mitt) method.

Read the zillion threads on washing. And have you read DavidB's e-book and the other articles in the Autopia U forum?

Also, for the first period on Autopia (30 posts is suggested), you oughta be putting your basic-level questions in the Autopia University forum. You'll get lots of good starter info that way. :up

I hope the Z6 was after each coat of Z2 with ZFX.

I would go with Lynn on this one. Z6 is only for dust and not dirt. You want to minimize swirls and not cause them by rubbing dirty towels on the paint even with the Z6 serving a lubricant. Just not safe. If in doubt, wash with Z-7 then you can Z6 after the Z7 wash.

A search will pull up lots of threads....E-book gets my :thumbsup
