Zaino vs NXT vs Optimum

hi guys,

I just posed a new topic but for some reason my laptop froze and not sure what happened to that post i made:S

Anyways, I'm really exicited to be part of a great forum where ppl around the world come to share their idea's and willing to help others.

I have Zaino Z2, Z6,Z8, Zaino CS, i recently bought NXT 2.0 because i heard gr8 reviews on this forums. I applied NXT 2.0 paste and toped it up wth CS and the results were amazing, It might even be better than Z2! I might Keep Z2 for the winter since it lasts longer than Nxt2.0.

I've been reading mix reviews on how NXt 2.0 has cleaners which will strip off the previous layer of wax/sealant, so my question is since i applied NXT2.0 few weeks back, does that mean my privous layers of Z2 is striped off?

I'm also leaning towards the optimum products, mostly their spray wax and Opti seal. If i'm not wrong, Is spray wax similar to Z8? If thats the case than i wont be making a purchase since my Z8 bottle is full. Luv to try opti seal aswell but my CS is impossible to finish....loll

Can i keep on using my NXt 2.0 and toping it up with CS every two months till the winter arrives? or do you think ordering Spray wax from optimum is worth the shot. I'm thinking of using claybar on my car this coming weekend and like to start fresh.

Sorry for the long post, Hopefully u guys didn't fall asleep...

It is my opinion that the cleaners in NXT 2.0 are very mild, and will not strip off an entire layer that is already there.

The Optimum Car Wax (spray wax) is a wax, whereas Z8 is a sealant. They are similar in that they are both sprays that offer protectant, but that's about all.

I am not sure how well the CS bonds with the NXT 2.0...you'll have to just try it, and see how long the protection lasts.

Is the Optimum Car Wax worth the shot? Sure, it's not a bad product. Try it and form your own opinion.

Good luck.

I love love LOVE Opti-Seal - I would buy it by the gallon if it was offered! lol

But, like Dave said, "Blondes, brunettes and redheads..." It's always going to boil down to preferences based upon one's own perceptions. As long as you're comparing high quality waxes to waxes, and sealants to sealants, you really can't go "wrong."

The cleaners, as has already been noted, are not really going to remove a layer of fully cured LSP.

I say stick with your current combo. It seems to be impressing you and im sure it looks good.

opti-seal for the price is hard to beat. IMO it gives a similar look to zaino sealants. I've never used Zaino but I see plenty of pics and it's that same hard candy shell plasticky look that I see with opti-seal sealants. My bottle of opti-seal is still 80% full and I would say I've applied 30+ full coats and numerous wheel applications. not saying it's the best sealant known to mankind but for the price, well I'm poor so...lol

NXT 2.0 is a great OTC sealant. it stains trim pretty bad but is a pleasure to work with otherwise and sheets water off. Durability is improved over the 1st version.

I am sure that Z-CS works fine over NXT since Opti-Seal does.

I'd try a few product combinations and see what you like best. Appearance is so subjective that you really have to see it with your own eyes to decide what is best.

If you like Zaino, I think you will find that Z5 is closer to the look of NXT2 than Z2 is.

I' ve used them all and found the nxt works best in colder temperatures.

But I've gone back to using Zaino as an LSP only.

Opti-Seal is nice and fast, but not I still can't get the look, nor the feel, nor the slickness of Zaino.

Just my personal preference :-)
