Zaino system

Once you've got the vehicle in tip top shape with a couple coats of Zaino can you use any other QD besides the Z6 Gloss enhancer? and then go back to Zaino?

Why? Stay with Z6 or Z8, IMO you shouldn't mix products.

I wouldn't put Z6 on FMJ when I can put their new QD on.

Also for the amount it takes to do a car to me its more cost effective than the OTC stuff.

Zaino, IMHO, has put together an outstanding system. I am truly amazed by how good this system works in tandem with each other part. The latest addition, Z8 Spray Sealer, is without equal from my experience with the /suprise/ curing properties it has. It is DIFFERENT ! The total system so far is head and shoulders above any system I have tried. I read with increasing interest, that there is a paint cleanser/polish due to ship soon for this system. I am going to do a total Zaino detail as soon as I can get my hands on this new addition to the Zaino system. The idea is, that if a part of a system knocks your socks off (works on a stand alone basis, Z2pro, Z8, Z5, etc-) , why not go "Whole Hog" at least once and see what the total effect is?

In answer to your question , I think you can probably combine any aspect of the system with other products, but will only get the benefit of the single item's properties. For example, Z8 is robust enough to apply over such products as NXT, FMJ, and KSG among others, with suprising results. BUT, imagine combining all the interactive elements of the same system in one detail ! Thats what I am waiting to be able to do ! The Z system is, IMO becoming more of a standard to achieve for product systems. Each product in the Zaino system is a valid one to use in conjuction with other products and adds unique qualities to any combination of quasi-compatable non-Zaino product/s/. I will add this, every product has its plusses, and experimentation ( I do it all the time) can be fun , I love to try different combo's so, no rule applies really. There are ups and downs to consider, also, some products may have an acceptable look, combined with Zaino, but not be very durable, or lack some of the systems qualities. But the Zaino system as a whole is actually very impresssive to me.

Z8 really rocks !:xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs :xyxthumbs

I feel it's best to stay within the system, but QDs don't tend to stay around too long. If you would like to apply more Zaino, just make sure you give the vehicle a thorough wash with Z7 car wash.

Sal should really consider putting out the Z QDs in gallon sizes. Not to mention the car wash, etc. I'm sure far more than plenty of buyers would purchase it. In the meantime, I assume some of you can purchase your Z QDs by the case?

:bow :bow :xyxthumbs AMEN, My Autopian Brother!!!

If you live in Jersey how do you guys get your Zaino.? I can't get it shipped cause Im in the same state as Sal. It's a 2 hour round trip plus traffic jams from here to Howell and back.

Definitely make the trek to Shore Motorsports on Rt. 9 in Howell. I did before I left Jersey and I don't use the sealant, just the tire dressing and leather conditioner.

I believe that is the source doing the shipping in NJ.

I am with you on this one !:bounce

Sal has experimented with larger quantities in the past and it was nothing but bad news and trouble. He is not interested in doing it again.

I have had 2 bottles of Z6 for a LONG time. Each product is quite cost effective when used properly...no real reason for the bigger quantities.

Oh, he is the source but does he ship? Isn't he's just a "parts store"?

Going back to the original question. My 3 regular QDs I use are Z6, Meg's FI and Mothers Showtime. All 3 work great for me over Zaino. FI leaves a nice gloss, Showtime has a brightness (I can't quite explain) and Z6,...well leaves it with that "fresh" Zaino look.

The past few months I've been using Meg's FI and Mother's Showtime steadily. I usually save the Z6 for when I'm only applying Zaino. However, posts I've read the past few weeks/months have changed my approach with Z6. I'm going to start using Z6 and Z8 more frequently and pushing the FI and Showtime aside for a while.

A good tip I learned not to long ago was to do a few shots of QD in a bucket of QEW (if you use it). QEW out of the bottle is already a pretty slippery product. The QD increases the slipperyness. I've been doing it with FI and Showtime and very pleased with the results.

As far as using a QD other than Z6 and then go back to Z6, I haven't noticed anything wrong.

All in all, there is something to be said about using Zaino line products together, they just yield phenomenal results. :xyxthumbs

I've heard more recently that this does little, if anything, You're adding a little QD into a bucket of QEW which will dilute it substantially enough rendering it ineffective. This is my understanding at least. Thread discussing this
