Zaino Products w/ polisher?

I have read many posts and seen two sides on this. I am going to ask directly and hope that the people of autopia can guide me in the right direction.

Should you or should you not use a polisher (porter cable) with zaino products?

Depends on what products. ZPC works great with a PC. I can't see any problems applying any of the sealants with a pc unless you stand on it on 6, etc....

Zaino applies very well by either hand or machine. When I'm in "Zaino Mode", I apply Z5 Pro/Z2 by hand & remove by hand. Super easy to use. If the machine method is what you're looking for, use a finishing pad for applying & a MF bonnet for removal.

ZPC can be used with a PC.

Z5 and Z2 can be applied by PC as well....However you will probably use more product when appling Z5 or Z2 by PC, IMO there is no need to do so.

ZPC can be used by hand, rotary, or pc. You could, if you wanted, use a finishing pad and the pc to apply the z5pro or z2pro, but because you can get them so thin by hand, I never used the pc to apply them. Zaino is meant to be applied in super thin coats, and its pretty easy to do by hand so thats why most people don't mess around with the pc.

Thanks for all the answers!

The reason for the question is due to the fact that I have a 06 scion tc (very very soft paint) that has very bad maring, and spider webbing. Due to my poor washing tech. This has been corrected but now I have fix the problems.

Orginally I was set on using a pc and poorboy products. But if I can fix it by hand, and most people swear by Zaino (people here) i was looking for this to be another option.

You really won't have much luck correcting deep marring by hand. If you're set on working by hand, take a look at the 1z polishes (specifically the Extra and the Lack-Politur), but it will require a lot more time and effort vs working by machine. A PC with some good polishes (I would recommend Optimum due to ease-of-use) is generally a much nicer option.

Although Zaino is great for sealing, it will not, with the exception of ZPC, remove deep marring. With ZPC and a PC you can pretty much remove any amount of marring. Also optimum, and menzerna are great.

thanks all, last question.

Since Zaino will not do the trick and I orginally planned on going with the PC, can I stay with the poorboys products or should I go with a product like optimum or menzerna?

If you already have the PB polishes, by all means use them. If you're ordering new though, I think Optimum polishes are much easier to use for beginners because of the fact that they don't dust along with the long working time. They're also a lot cheaper (32oz of Optimum polishes usually goes for the same amount as 16oz of PB or Menz).

ZPC is a fairly verstile product. It can remove sanding marks yet finish down pretty fine. It also does a very good job cleaning. ZPC by PC with an orange pad will remove most swirls without issue. By rotary you can get killer results with ZPC.

yes u can tho it might be easier to remove with microfiber it is not hard to buff off

What specific pads do you recommend for application and removal?

My PC just arrived to day and I'm waiting for the weather to clear until I take on the task of my first Zaino detail.

I rubbed this out with Z-PC using a 4 inch orange LC pad by HAND!!.

Pick your spot and work it till it's gone.
