Zaino Problems

Hello everyone. This will be my first time using a PC but not my first using Zaino.

I worked on a black corvette this weekend. IP on LC yellow pad then ZPC on LC white pad. There was a lot of holograming after the ZPC, am I applying too much or not working it in long enough? Also, I applyed ZFX-Z5pro and then went to buff it off but it left TONS of streaks that I can't buff off. Z8 seems to remove the streaks but it took a lot of work. What am I doing wrong?? Thanks for your help in advance.

Yes, you used way too much ZPC. If you use too much ZPC, it won't clean up your paint as well or remove imperfections, it will just leave you with a glossy finish. Use less next time. Make sure you are applying moderate pressure when you're using ZPC. Also, work ZPC until it starts to dust.

As for the Z5, you applied that too thick too. You should barely even be able to see if when you apply it. What pad did you use to apply Z5? I use a blue sealer pad. I can get 3 coats out of 1 ounce of Z5 on my WRX.

You need very little Z-PC to polish out each section and polish out until it is nearly dry. You will get light dusting like with Menzerna or DACP when you have worked it long enough. Normally, 2-3 pea sized globs are enough per section. I have a feeling the hologramming you saw was polish residue that wasn't wiped completely off the paint. Next time, cut back on the amount of Z-PC you use, work a bit longer and use Z-6 to remove any excess that will cause Z5 to streak.

Worked properly, Z-PC is an excellent product.

What speed do you start and end at?

I used the pad that came with my Zaino package.

I start with speed 2-3, just to spread the product out evenly, then I bump it right up to speed 6.

Oh ok, you applied it by hand? I thought you were using your PC to apply the Z5.

As others have stated, use a couple tiny drops on your pad. With the z5pro, and everything else in the line, you should barely be able to see if when you apply it. Thin is in. Check out the Zaino Store for technical questions as well. It says on the site if you have any sealant streaking, use Z6 to remove.
