Zaino Gloss Enhancer - Left Stains

Alright,

I used the polish for swirl marks, and then after cleaning off the polish, i sprayed Zaino Gloss Enhancer. This thing left water mark style stains everywhere. I maybe doing something wrong.

The temp was around 70 degrees with wind and cludy sky.

(dam, it went in my eye, what an irritant!)

Any suggestions?

did you let the Z6 dry on the car ? not suppose to (from what I've read). apply, wipe off. Try applying again on those spots and wipe off.

Do you have a dark colored car? I have a black car and even on a cloudy day it will get hot to the touch and quickly evaporate the Z-6. Remember to do a small area at a time so that you can quickly wipe it off before it has a chance to dry. And continue to rub until the area is dry and slick. Go over the area with another shop of Z-6 and that should get ride of any of the spots.

Try using very little product or even better, apply the Z6 to a towel instead of the car. I use just a couple light squirts to wipe down a panel like a door. Or spray several pumps onto a towel and wipe a couple panels at a time.

Experiment a little to find the best technique.

I mist an MF twice and wipe half the car with it, then mist another side of it to do the other half, even in the sun on hot black paint - no smears.

Question - I didn't buy any Z-6 but wish to add additional layers of Z-2, can this be done w/o the gloss enhancer between coats & still get good results?

Yes. But, not quite as good and gets pretty expensive. It's the gloss enhancer and carwash that keeps the looks at a reasonable cost.

You say nothing about what was under the Z swirl filler. If it was not all Zaino, you're asking for problems (was it carnauba, by chance? - big NONO.).

If it was Zaino underneath, was it per directions?

- Dawn Wash

- Claying with Z carwash

- Wash with Z carwash

- Z PreLoc or Accelerator?

Z is great, but it will amplify what is below and it is VERY UNFRIENDLY toward carnauba and silicones. If there were water spots when you started with the Z2, they will still be there. If there's carnauba or silicone, you will not get good results.

I washed the car with Dawn like product. After that i applied Swril Mark polish frm Zaino and after cleaning it off i used the gloss enhancer. I think i will try it agian.

Tell me, after the gloss enhancer, maybe a week later, should i use carnauba wax?

Thanks!

Zaino Gloss enhancer (Z6) is pretty concentrated - I cut it to a 50/50 mixture with distilled water before applying- works for me.

Would suggest clay with Z carwash as lubricant after Dawn, but not mandatory (followed by a full Z carwash)

You don't mention PreLock or Accelerator before the Z swirl filler

I suggest NEVER using carnauba if you're using the Z system. If you do, you need to start all over before using Zaino polish or swirl filler again. I only Dawn my cars ONCE (coming home from the dealer) and then Z only thereafter.

Sounds like you're not removing the Dawn with Z carwash before you start the Z system; sounds like you may be mixing in carnauba.

Basically, I'm just reciting the directions from the Zaino website. It works for me. You can read the horror stories from those that don't.

I did remove the 'dawn' like product i used earlier. I cleaned it off with Meguires Gold Car wash (or somehting like that frm Meguire).

Carnauba? nope. Never used it on my car. Thinking of using it, have not done it yet. If Carnauba does not mix well with zaino, then iam not using it. But i do need a wax. Ill check zaino website if they have one.

By the way, Zaino doesn't make any waxes and with their product, you really don't need one either.

Using waxes / carnuba's with Zaino can be problematic if you intend on apply Zaino more than once ever 2-3 months as you'll need to strip off the carnuba first before you can apply more Z.

The shine is more than enough. I just applied Z5 and a top coat of S100. Sure the S100 gave it a little more pop but I don't think it was enough of a change to merit messing up the ability to apply more layers of Z. But that is just my opinion.
