i thought i would give zaino clay a try, so i clayed my car's hood ( a red civic 2000) and boy the clay really did a very good job. i have never touch, used a clay before, so i was really impressed with it. i only used half of it, after calying it seems to be in good shape, my question, what do you do with the used clay?

the right side is just a wash and the left side is clayed and applied some Z5. both taken with a flash. and is a rush job.

i have never done this before, and was a bit anxious for the outcome, worrying that i might be doing it wrong.

i ran out ot daylight so i just did the hood (lol i know i cheated abit).

you guys out here at autopia.org are my motivation for doing this and getting into it. i was reading some of G35s and dave's posts to name a few. i thought would give this a try. i hope i dont get addicted.

What to do with used clay? Just place back in container and use until obviously too dirty or particulate matter can be felt in the clay.

Claying is one of the best thing you can do for paint and there is no limit on the number of times one can perform this act. All positive and no negatives if performed properly and the proper clay grade is selected for the task at hand.

Claying is kind of fun IMHO. :D

I find that nearly every car is covered with stuck-on contaminates, and the clay is usually not salvagable for another car....

True, and some customer vehicles require several clay bars. :(

I was addressing my personal vehicles (garaged when not in use) that do not accumulate enough contaminants to destroy a clay bar after even several uses.

You can usually get more than a hoods worth of use out of a clay bar. I usually cut mine into 3 pieces and use each piece on only one car. After its used I retire it to rim and glass duty. I usually just clump all my used clay into one big ball so its easier to store, and when it comes time to use it for glass or whatever I just tear a small chunk off.

i agree, the first time was a little rough, then as i glide more and more it gets smoother. that red one is a 2000 civic, and all it got is a car wash and once in a while an over the counter wax.
