Zaino Approved Waynestowels ?

I have a whole bunch of Wayne's towels (as well as other's) and the ultra plush ones are very good. Wayne is a gentleman and a very helpful person IMHO.

Why Waynestowels? Anyone try them? Anything very special about these towels? Or is this just a marketing partnership?

As the others have said, he was very dishonest with the folks here. He tried to sell is product by lying to us. I think this speaks volumes about his sales practices.

I haven’t talked to Sal for a long time, I never thought I would hear of him "oking" Mfs he likes the cotton ones a lot..

I do not believe that Wayne is an honest man. He attempted to Spam on Autopia by claiming that he accidently ordered like 6000 towels instead of 60 towels and he was just trying to sell the extras since the company wouldn't take them back. You might notice that he isn't a member on Autopia anymore. I believe that he is dishonest and I wouldn't buy his towels if they were the only microfibers on the market. The way he tried to play us like we were stupid here is a black mark on his record that isn't going away any time soon.
After two years, and now geting out of the business (throwing in the towel) He's still promoting his towels as "zaino approved" while at the same time conducting other [FK1] product comparisions ... gee that's a no-brainer, of course nothing else could compare - otherwise his AD line would have No Value. ... "Our Ultimate Plush towel is now Zaino approved!" http://forums.roadfly.com/forums/detailing/7791510-1.html ... What a character! ... http://forums.roadfly.com/forums/detailing/7756836-1.html ... maybe it should read "now MenZerna approved" or "DURAGLOSS approved"

I'm not sure that I've heard anything here that would make me think he's dishonest. He is a towel salesman, and... Let me see, he spammed us, lol string him up. It's good to see that Autopia is a low spam community compared to some of the other sites but I would say spam is still prevelant. I was having a disagreement, (very mild), with someone here about a wax and then come to find that the individual happens to sell that wax, lol. :nana:

Get over it, forms of spam are eveywhere, the question is are the towels good quality at a good price. I would say that it would have to be a MF that stays soft for a long time before I would use it with Zaino. I think it's a good idea to use cotton with zaino or klasse myself. You just have to rub hard sometimes, and I have yet to find a MF that stays soft after many uses. I wouldn't mind trying Waynes towels if they can stay soft, or any other brand for that matter. I have read Waynes stuff over at Roadfly, which was were I learned about Autopia BTW, and I haven't heard anything over there either that would make me consider him dishonest. He doesn't pretend that he doesn't sell towels, or keep that information quite, he's a towel salesman, if anything he should have our sympathies. :chuckle:

Good towels will work for Zaino, will work for 4*, will work for Poorboy's, will work for Pinnacle. Zaino and all their brand-specific BS.

I think it's a ligitimate question, but I can say that it would be nice to see Zaino sell some towels to go with their system, MF or Cotton it doesn't matter to me so long as their soft and good quality.

As was mentioned, he is referenced over and over on the roadfly detailing board I visited once. Seems every single person there uses his towels as though he has a monopoly on microfiber. Kinda makes me want to run the other way--it's almost cult-like really.

Apparently, he is purposely closing-up shop due to health reasons. But there is a large inventory, so he will still be selling towels for a while. After reading about what happened here though, makes you wonder.

The Zaino approved thing is like the Febreze I recently bought. It's "Motor Trend approved." And Griot's Wheel Cleaner is "BBS Approved." I guess if it sells one more unit..

Zaino Schmaino......If you should buy into the marketing, good for Wayne....

I agree. What a joke to have a MF approved for a particular brand of products. This isn't rocket science we're dealing with here. Will we have Zaino appoved water next?

Hmmm.... Z20... it has a ring to it!

I used cotton towels when I first started with Zaino about 7 years ago, but seldom use them anymore, although sometimes they seem better than MF for removing Zaino Z2. Still, most of the time I use Pak's MF towels for everything related to the car, as I know they are the absolute best, or close enough to it for me.

In all instances, after cleaning, they are as good as new. I see no reason why one MF should be Zaino approved, and I doubt that Sal Zaino wants to get into the business of certifying one brand over another.

DING..DING..this sums it all up imho.

I have been on that board...great bunch of guys...many Zaino followers...his "zaino approved" mf towels...coincidence that he favors zaino in his "reviews" or is it marketing?

Very happy with dealing with other folks like Pakshak, excel ect who have great mf towels but also are on the up and up.

Honestly, quality microfiber towels work great with any polish, glaze or wax. I'd pay no mind to cross marketing and just use the towels you like.

It's awesome that someone can randomly bring up a thread here (from 2+ years ago) to talk bad about someone that doesn't/can't post here...really strengthens and enlightens this community.

Makes me wonder how many would use steel wool to apply Zaino if they heard that Sal recommended it. Not a bash on Sal, just wish people would use their own noggins for a change.

If Sal is recommending any certain brand I seriously doubt it is because he believes they are the best but, more likely he is recommending brands that he has tested. I seriously doubt he has had the time or desire to test every towel from every vendor out there. Seems more likely to me that if Sal is recommending a certain brank that is a marketing agreement more than anything else. Seems funny to me that there is still no mention of microfiber at all on his Towel Guidlines page. (http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=TOWELS&Store_Code=Z)

I have been using towels from Pakshak for years with Zaino and have NEVER had a problem with them. I think most will agree that Ranney is awesome to deal with. :xyxthumbs

That pretty much sums it up right there in my opinion.

I agree.

I think it's nothing more than a business arrangement/relationship. Most MFs out there are all the same or very similar.

Oh, now I get it, Piniti-PX who is a total FK1 lover brought up this old post to get back at Waynes Towels who bashes FK1 on other sites. I'm a little slow in my old age, but I finally got it. I'm sorry I got sucked into this thread, I thought this might be informational-tatoo "sucker" to my head. :bolt
