Zaino across the board for my G

Just maintaining the wonderful shine from Zaino. I polished with Klasse AIO (pre-VOC laws) and layered Z5 Pro about 2 weeks ago. Today I just did a Z7 wash and Z8 after it was dried. My current list of products used are as follows:

-Zaino Z5 Pro x 3 (ZFX'd) on paint, wheels, glass, trim, exhaust

-Zaino Z8 after each wash

-Zaino Z16 on tires

Sean, I'm always impressed with your work but I have to say perfect prep and Z-5 Pro look gorgeous on diamond graphite. The Zaino sticker is also quite tasteful and good advertising for your business. Nice to see hard work pay off so well for young car lover.

Absolutely outstanding! I love it!

Would you talk to me about your wheels? I have an '04 G35, and the brake dust problem with the standard factory wheels has me tearing my hair out. I've tried A2Z, Michelin, and Mopar wheel cleaners without luck. Tried Simple Green, SoftScrub, and a variety of household cleaners that didn't work at all. Michelin Brake Dust Repellent did nothing, and sealant helps a little but not really significant. I can get them clean using BonAmi cleanser, but with a whole lot more work than I think is reasonable. The dealer tells me it's a known problem, but they don't have a solution. I've been told that they have the same problem with the '05 wheels. I don't know if the '06 wheels would fit on an '04, but if you have no trouble with brake dust I would look into whether or not a set of '06 wheels might fit on a '04.

Thanks for any comment or advise you can offer.

It's not the wheels - '05s and '06s don't have brake dust issues because they changed the OEM pads. Grab some Hawks HPS's and have them installed when you change your pads next, the dust is almost non-existant with them. I had the same problem on my '03 with the OEM pads.

dogma: It's a pretty nice combo, isn't it :)?

Zane: I'm looking into Huper Optik tint, probably 40 or 50%, something very light, but will add a subdued look and keep the heat out.

jsa: It's just Z5 Pro x 3...I like the Pro better than standard...I have yet to try Z2 Pro over it, but surely will, rather soon.

Lee: Thanks...I was very surprised to see how close the colors were.

Scott: I feel mischievous :D. On my first hard run through the gears, I chirped third on dry pavement...In the Integra, that would be impossible in stock form unless I was on two donuts .

Old Rattle Flat: Do you have the coupe? With the Brembos?

Irregardless, if the dust is bad, I'd go to the source and replace the pads with Hawk HPS.

From there, you can interchange any G-wheels (coupe to sedan require spacers). Mine are the 18" Sport wheels and are available used with tires (under 5k) for under $1000 on eBay and most forums.

I would clean them off the car first by using a wheel cleaner, then clay, polish, and finally seal them with a VERY strong sealant (Zaino, Klasse, Collonite IW). Do multiple layers and clean them weekly with just soap and water.

I have been doing this since new (~3 weeks) and haven't had any trouble removing dust.

Hope this helps.

Thanks again!

edit: Picus: Ha! We think alike.

another zealot has been born ! heh heh

nice work.. interesting to see use it on the wheels and z8 in between layers..

that's some serious zaino work alright !

The only concern with HPS pads is they can get squeaky - luckily a little lube will take care of that. I got mine from tirerack; same price as OEM and the stopping power *and* dust is way better.

That looks really interesting. Go for the 30 :)

Looks great! Thats probably the wetest looking Z-16 Ive seen, Its funny how certain tires make a product more or less glossy.

Guess I should mention that it's x 2 :). Still, I like my tires a little glossier than 1 layer of Z16, so I usually go 2-3x.

That first picture is scary. Scary how reflective it is. Do you have people looking at your car while you drive? I think some people get amazed that a car can shine like that. It's kind of funny.

And where's your inspection sticker? HM!?

I'm a CT resident now :D.

No stickers, no front plate (there is a law, but they don't care).
