Z7 users w/in please>

I usual don’t measure my Z7 when I pour it in my bucket when I wash the cars, I have been using Z for over 4 years and I "thought" I was using enough Z7 when I wash. Today I was getting ready to wash the satty and it was a mess! I was using my yellow wash bucket from griots. I think it is 5 gal but I had about 2 1/2 gal in it. Instead of just dumping come Z7 in the bucket like I always do I put 2 cap fulls in for each Gal like the label says (I put in 5)



Man o man was it sudsy I think I have not been using enough wash? How much do you all use>? I don’t think that it really cleaned any better but man it made my garage floor slick as ice!

4 cap fulls or galogs for 2 gals. I know I could rinse the cap in the water afterward, but I don't like to pour it directly into the cap. I hold it (the cap) next to the bottle and visualize a cap full as I pour.
 
I always use exactly 2 capfuls in my 5 gallon bucket. Always makes more than enough suds to do the entire car, and then some. If I use more, I end up with more suds than I need... As with every Z product the Z7 is very concentrated so I use sparingly....

I use a 5 gal rinse bucket and a 2.5 gal suds bucket. I normally use what you did today, five capfull's. If the truck is dirter than usual (read the friggin' rain won't cut me some slack) then I may add a sixth cap.



I really like the Z7, but it cracks me up when people say they have lots of suds. I went to Z7 when I switched to zaino, but the Meguiars #40 (I think, too lazy to look right now) Shampoo and Conditioner had far more suds. On the other hand, it was cheep and I did not measure it like I do the more costly Z7. Probably just my methods causing the difference.



I see no reason to try a conserve the Z7 like I do with Z2 or Z5. After all I am trying to float the dirt off the surface with as little scrubbing as possible.



I do like to seal the Z7 bottle up, and rinse it off over my bucket. That way I get to use product that spilled over the top. I rinse the cap first in the suds bucket too.:D
 
yep - I only use 2 capfulls per 5 gal's of water and get plenty of sudsing action.



but as far as what gimp said I do that too - I use the Z7 for my "Saturday wash" only - for my "Wednesday wash" I use Meguiar's #00 Hi-Tech or Gold Class Shampoo. Its alot cheaper and I don't find it giving me any problems with the shine or durability.



Too expensive to waste....
 
I do the EXACT SAME thing as Gimp does.



cap drips and everything...



2 capfuls with 3.5 gallons of water every wk/end.



More than enough suds, and I always end up with about a 1/2 gal of water left over!

I always use 3 capfuls per 4 gallons for the body, and 1 capful per 1 gallon for wheels and tires.



I used to use 2-3 capfuls per gallon, but recently have reduced my Z7 use becuase I get the same results with fewer capfuls. However, I live in LA, so my car never gets that dirty- only dusty, which makes a difference.
 
The first time I used Z7 , I took 2 Oz in a 3gallon bucket:

I had like a foamcarpet on my driveway : way too much sudsing.

Now I use 3 capfulls on a 3gallon bucket : it works fine like this.

I just pour it in until there is a small pancake size at the bottom of my bucket..... Not very accurate, but beats trying to pour capfuls into that little cap and trying to then pour it all out of the cap! I call it guestimating.....

I'm a lot more scientific. I replaced the screw-on cap on my Z-7 with a cap from a Z-5 squirt bottle. I hated that slippery stuff every time I used the cap to measure it out. After all sorts of high level equations, I arrived at the formula below.



3 medium squeezes of Z-7 in the blue 2 1/2 gallon bucket.

Exactly two capfuls to 4 gallons of water (in a 5-gal. bucket), being very careful to drip all I can out of that first capful into the bucket before pouring the next capful. Next I rinse the cap out into the wash bucket to get all the Z7 out, dry the inside of the cap very well, and then use my wash mitt to wipe off that drip of Z7 that runs down the threads of the bottle before replacing the cap. No Z7 is wasted.



I don't think I go overboard.

The Z7 cap is equal to 1 Tablespoon. I just pour the Z7 into a Tablespoon, it's easier to wipe the remaining Z7 on the Tablespoon into the water with a finger. Plus you won't drip any liquid onto the bottle.



I use 2 Tablespoons in 1.75 gallons of water.
 
Hmmm, my bottle says to use 3-4 capfuls per gallon but I've never used it at that concentration. I probably do about 2 capfuls per gallon...making a total of about 8 capfuls in my bucket. But looking at the previous posts, it sounds like I'm using a lot more than necessary.

After reading all these inovative ways to measure Z7, I think that the squirt method might actually be the easiest and most accurate. I think I am going to stop making pancakes....
