Z7 & 1z Perls Wash

I just recently purchased some 1Z perls shampoo. I have heard from felloe board members what a wonderful product it is. I used the 1Z last weekend and it worked quite nice. Left a slick surface and a nice shine.. It cut the winter grime well. The only thing that I didn't like was its sudsing ability. Not much suds and towards the end of the wash the wash bucket water was very flat.

I went back to my Z7 today and was once again impresssed. It cut the grim well and and also takes off most of the road tar. It leaves a nice shine and slick surface. It's sudsing ability is tops! Super suds that last the whole wash. Plus it smells fantastic.

I compared the two on my white work truck with a 2 month old application of Z2. IMO I'll give Z7 the nod from now on!

I've never used 1Z pearls. I would be interested in hearing from someone who's used both 1Z pearls and the soap that goes with the Mr. Clean Autodry. From the descriptions I've read about pearls, it sounds very similar. The Mr. Clean soap has a light polymer that causes the rinse water to form little pearls of water that dance across the surface. I know the Mr. Clean Autodry soap has a bad rap here, but it may be worth looking into now that 1Z dropped Autopia like a dirty sock.

I love Perls, but if you prefer a lot of suds it may not be the best car wash for you. If you don't want it, I'd be happy to trade for it - I have 11 different car washes, LOL.

1z is great - z7 is better - mr clean sucks like a hoover

I was kind of looking for something a bit more comprehensive.

Here are the things I've seen are similar. Both leave some type of polymer finish that cause little round pearls of water to dance across the surface and both do not produce a lot of suds. Mr. Clean has decent cleaning ability when used in a regular wash bucket rather than applied with the Mr. Clean apparatus. So what is it that is so inferior to 1Z?

Beats me mr clean is just a mass marketed product meant to be all things to all people. The stuff spots my jet black car even when used with the water softening applicatior. I used the thing once and threw it in the trash

I must agree, the Mr. Clean thing leaves a film on the car. The glass was horrible. It looked great after the wash but at night under a parking lot light, I was astounded!!! what a streaky mess. It took a few weeks of Z7 washes and window cleaners to get it all off!

Bill, I agree, IMO the sudsing action help the sponge or mit glide over the surface better, and carry the grime away. I might be technicaly wrong but thats what feels better to me when I'm washing.

Suds does not equal cleaning ability. Look at QEW...no suds but does a great job cleaning.

My experience is similar by using the foam gun. I have a constant stream of running soap( lubrication) running over a panel at a time

Actually the liquid and soap is a better lube than the suds. Its nice to have both like with Z7. To make Perls sudsy just use a high pressure water stream (I use my pressure wash) and mix per directions in 2 quarts of starter water in bucket. Place washing mit in this solution as a buffer and place nozzle of in bucket at high hose pressure of low pressure washer pressure. You will have a bucket of a really good foamy solution.

Do not feel isolated Intercooled, my first usage of Perls was too quite disappointing for the exact same reason. Now I use the procedure I stated with excellent results.

I use Perls for light cleaning and Z7 for pre-sealant application washes and heavier grime washes. :xyxthumbs
