Z2/Z5 and ZFX Question

After the ZFX is mixed with the polish how long will the mixture be usable.

Example: If I mix 1oz of Z2/Z5 with ZFX and only use 1/2oz can the remainder be used at a later date ( days - weeks )

I believe the working time is 12 hours.



Unless there is time you have to wait after you mix the stuff together, I don't see a problem in just mixing the amount you'll use in 1/2 oz increments.

GO to the Zaino website. Sal has added the instructions for ZFX and they are thorough. I forget but I think you have like less than 12 hours and you have to clean the container else it is toast.

okay maybe six! but the point is still the same only mix in increments you can work with GUESS!!!

Absolutely STEVE. Mix what you are gonna use else you will waste it. I wonder if the excess turns into a hard plastic when dry???

In that case <span style='font-size: 14px;'><span style='color: red'>GUESS!!! maybe you should rinse out your little bottles right away so that it doesn't cure in the bottle and mess up your next batch.

I don't own any yet. Maybe we can get FLONI to do this test then you can do your ChemE testing on the remnants in the plastic bottle???

You have up to 6 hours working time with the mixture on hand. So if you mix up 2 ounces, enough to do 2-3 coats, you have 6 hours to apply it. If you think it will take you longer, just mix one ounce of Z2 and then mix another small batch hours later. After 6 hours the ZFX will have no effect.......and after 12 hours the system is toast if you don't use it. Wash the bottles out as soon as you are done.....

came out fine...but like i said...i didnt like the bottlesthat came with it...they were very hard to squeeze...like extremely hard plastic...maybe because they were new....i just got some softer ones from a local paint store....BTW...the Z2 absorbed all the blue ZFX and looked the same...but the Z5 thats mostly white looking terned such a pretty blue!!!!!ah!!!!!!!!nice.it didnt get hard after 6 hrs...not even after 12...it looked the same but i tossed it....(about 1/3oz)
