Z2, Z5 and a PC polisher?

I am brand new to this great site and I am considering purchasing a PC 7424 polisher with Sonus SFX pad kit to apply and remove Z5 & Z2. Zaino is not real clear if there is any benifit over hand application. I have some light spider webs on a clearcoated dark blue gray car and did not have much luck removing all of them with a couple of hand applications of Z5. Any thoughts or advice from any of you experts!

the lazy guy in me has always wanted to do zaino by pc, but it would sure waste A LOT more product. that is why I haven't done it. could you? sure, but it is totally up to you. there is no real benefit except maybe a more even application depending on how good you are.

edit: to answer your other question, z5 is not too hot at getting rid of swirls at all. you should pre-polish prior to your zaino application. i like sonus sfx-2 or menzerna fpII depending on the paint condition. THIS is where the pc will be helpful.

Z5 will not remove any defects. It might cover some LIGHT ones, but even that's a stretch.

The only way I could ever see using Zaino with a PC is with a Suburf microfinger finishing pad, but I still don't think I could make better time or use less product than just simply doing it by hand. Less is more with Z2 and Z5, so stick with what's easiest.

Definitely pre-polish to get rid of any defects before putting any Zaino on.

I have a PC , but I think Zaino is easier to do by hand and I agree it wastes less product. I also love Z5 whether it does or doesn't take out scratches or swirls ,it sure leaves the surface of my black car virtually perfect.

I've experimented with applying Z2/Z5 via a PC. It does allow you to apply a very consistent coat very quickly. However, to get the process going, the finishing pad must be loaded with product, which makes you use a lot more polish than you would with just hand application.

Maybe if you used 4" pads instead, you would waste less, but using too much product is of little concern for many people. The PC still applies very thin coats which are easy to buff off.

The bottomline for me at least, is that I prefer hand application unless I'm doing a multiple coats on multiple cars. Then the energy saved would really be worth it.

As mentioned already, Z5 won't fix the spiderwebs. Polishing is needed to do this (PC is good here).

I apply Zaino by PC with a finishing pad. It lets me get a really thin layer on. You will use more product as the pad will soak up some of the Zaino. I remove it by hand with MF towels.
