Z-2 Topper?

I have a can of Blitz on the way but I read someting here recently that suggests I may have an issue. I had intended to use Blitz as a topper to Z-2 but now I'm wondering. Is this not done? Thanks!
 
Nothing says it can't be done, most just don't do it.



You can surely put the Blitz on top of Z-2, but this would cause you not to be able to layer on the Z-2 on top of the Blitz. The will not bond because of the oils and carnauba in Blitz. You would have to dawn wash the car to strip the Blitz and Z1, Z2...etc etc.



The Zaino is supposed to be used in a system, of Z1, Z2, Z2, Z2...etc. and Z1 again every 5-10 coats of Z-2.



I still remember when I was a die hard Meguiars #7 polish/3M Imperial Hand Glaze user with a follow up of two light coats of Meguiars #26/Blitz depending on the paint I was working with and the mood I was in. This was before Klasse, Zaino, and the new Blackfire was introduced into my vocabulary. Was it Beau, Moe, Huy, Richard, Don, David, or Brad who introduced the Autopians the Klasse?

but most zaino users would rather put another coat of zaino on then a coat of carnuba. It kind of defeats the purpose of sals system being optically clear..........and inhibits layering till the carnuba is stripped........
 
As we're located north of New England's south coast, today is probably about it for applying Zaino on cars consigned to the driveway. I've got three coats of Z-2 on the WRX's horizontal surfaces and two on the verticals. The car is white so the shine is subtle. This is my first use of Zaino and I'm pleased with the results. I agree with the observations of others here that Zaino gives little warmth but for me, and on white, that works.



If I were to try to improve the Z-2, it would be to make it go on more evenly. It appears to me that it goes down in a series of tiny streaks and I have to go over it several times until I'm satisfied the entire surface is coated (the applicator is water-dampened foam).



Anything better than Z-2 to protect clear coated alloy wheels?

Use a dampened applicator and spray a few shots of Z6 on it. This really makes Z2 go on thin and even. I prefer sals cotton applicators, but foam works well too. Once the surface is saturated with Z2 polish, it will go on even and thin.



On a light colored car, experiment with Z5. Some claim it shines better on silver and white. I like it better on silver, but on white I prefer Z2. Put about 2-3 coats on, and then use Z1 again and one more coat of Z2. It makes a difference, and always use Z6 in between.



AS for wheels, Zaino is just about as durable as they come, it should shine your wheels nice, and keep them slick and easy to clean during washings. Brake dust eats through polish, so the sooner you get it off the wheels the longer the sealant will last on your wheels...
