Z-16 Tire shine

I detailed an 03 Grand Am and used Z-16 for the first time to try it out. I must say I was very impressed. It left a very nice "Satin" finish for those who like that look instead of a high gloss. I applied 2 coats.

My only complaint is that it is in a bottle that you have to "squeeze" the product onto an applicator. I think it would be alot easier in a spray bottle. I just might transfer it into one and see. I would post pics but I can't figure out how, still......

Do you have the picture hosted somewhere? You have a gallery here at Autopia. Upload your picture there, and when you want to post it, click on the "IMG" button on the reply form and enter the location of the picture there.

Sort of confusing, I know.

Personally I like the spout-top better than a spray head. I feel I can control the pouring better, but that's just me. You could always buy a spray head or bottle, I guess.

Anyway, Z16 is my new fave tire dressing, right up there with Eagle One Concours and Vinylex for tires. And Z16 seems to last longer too.

You need to upload it to your Autopia gallery. There's a link at the top of the page that says "gallery" - click on it and then click on "My Gallery" at the top of the next page.

I actually like the spout. I use a terry cloth applicator to apply. It gets in all the cracks in the lettering and allows you very fine control over where the product goes.

Z-16 is really thin and in a spray bottle, I feel like I wouldn't have as much control and get it on the rims.

I also like Z-16 since it seems to dry quicker than a lot of gel based products.

I also use Z-16 when I want a satin finish shine. I love the look.

I use Eagle One Tire Swipes for the application. Just turn the bottle upside down and let it drip onto the tire swipe. The sponge will absorb the Z-16 and apply perfectly....

I just applied some on my Mustang using my Eagle One applicator, On second thought I like the spout and considering the cost of Z-16 you will probably waste more product with a spray bottle.

You're exactly right. Using the tire swipes only takes a few drops.

I've actually been "nursing" the same bottle of Z-16 for almost a year!

(just ordered my 2nd bottle today...)

I also use Z-16 and like the look. As it was mentioned before it provides a nice satin look and it also lasts a long time. I also use the Eagle One applicator to apply.

I'm definitely a Z-16 fan as well. It gives just the right satiny sheen without looking like shellac. Lasts well, too.

Next Question:

The bottle says you can use it on vinly, plastic, etc. excluding porous materials anyone tried it on other parts of their car? I really don't have any spots to try it on... Maybe my wifes car.

Yes, I've used it much as you would Mothers Back-to-Black. I don't use it on the dash, but I have used it on the plastic kick panel trim on the lower doors and footwells. Also the plastic "cowl" where the wipers reside...works great for that area.
