You've Got To Be Kidding Me...

HEMI screams redneck to me anyway. LOL But I have been seeing those trucks for years. Personally I like the Bumble Bee better. ;)

Yeah, I don't get those big WRX etc. wings either.
The wing on the STi is that tall because it serves a function other than aesthetics. For the part to do its job, it has to be tall enough to catch the air flow coming off the roof . . . form follows function, and you end up with a big-a$$ wing on the trunk.

I agree, though: from a "looks" perspective, it ain't pretty.

That ridiculous truck after all the talk that Chrysler WAS NOT going to try and awaken the musclecar days.

And for the record, on Superbirds and Daytonas, you could not open the trunk all the way, like their Road Runner and Charger counterparts. There are stops welded into the mechanism to stop their travel. (I restored two Superbirds)

Plus, the wing for aerodynamics is worthless under 100 MPH anyhow.

I know a guy who has this same truck in silver and with an extended cab, the second day he owned it he took it to the shop and had the spoiler and stripes removed. Now it doesn't look so bad.

Thing is a monster, he has around 2inches of clearance between the two houses on his driveway with his mirrors folded.

Fair enough.

I guess I just presumed...I used to work with a guy who had once had a Superbird briefly and he never complained about the trunk.

Anyway, I'm thinking I was mistaken in saying that the wing on the truck was not practical...I mean, if you've got a pickup, I imagine people are always asking you to move stuff for them as a favor...so if you have one of these, you can just say "hey, I'd like to help you move...but I can't get your stuff into the truck because of that darn wing..." :chuckle:

The Dodge Ram SRT-10 has always had a factory wing. It looks a little better than this one I think--not so high. Regardless, these trucks are repulsive to me, and to add insult to injury, it seems there's usually an a-hole behind the wheel.

Mike.

I really have lost all hope for you.

Can't you tell from the picture? That truck was made with one purpose in mind: to break the time-space continuum. Not sure where or when it is going to in that picture, but it's truckin' there for sure.
