Your wash sponge/mitt/pad

..I have not found the mf or bhb to be any less safer than the lambswool in terms of inflicting wash induced marring. The process you use it ultimately the most important factor in maintaining a swirl free finish....
Good point! You can mar paint up with any (in-and-of itself safe) wash media. Once you get past the basic "will this mar my paint by itself?" test (i.e., the CD-Test), then it's all about how you use it.

..That an a durable LSP.

Well, I'd say "and a LSP that releases dirt readily" instead. The UPP I use on the S8 isn't the least bit durable (I redo it after almost every wash) but it sheds dirt so readily that it's easy to wash that car marring-free.

I haven't tried a BHB, the buy-in is expensive and I seem to recall a several posts about QC issues and having to inspect and return multiple examples to get a good one. Life is too short.

Yes indeed, there are plenty of [crappy] BHBs on the market. If you do decide to splurge and get a BHB, the "Blonde" one from Universal Brush is great as is their other, "regular" one that AutoGeek sells under the "Montana" name. Both are good-to-go.

Heh heh, "Life *IS* too short"...to correct wash-induced marring ;)
