Hey guys, I'm flattered by the responses :) As for the wheels... ehhh I'm not stressing out over them. I still don't fully comprehend the point to cleaning behind the wheels, even if they end up pitting (my previous car probably had plenty of pitting and still performed fine). I see what you mean about the wheel well now... I have a tire brush but I don't think it'd fit in there. I"ll look into the meg's everyones talking about, but again I'm not stressing over that area.

Thank you guys again! I'm looking to do a z2/z5 for my 2nd detail I'll post pics in a few months when I do it.

Bringing this thread back.

Trust me, they won't pit if you properly care for them. My wheels are absolutely perfect. I use Griots Wheel Cleaner or P21S and a Meg's Spoke Brush. You could eat off the inside of my wheels.

Something to consider

Hey, Nice car! I love the color, and your paint looks nice and wet. Over time, you'll notice a few other areas to clean (wells, inner wheels, etc...). As the addiction builds, your eye will get better. Thanks for sharing!

As some others have noted, P21S wheel cleaner (I'd use the gel on BMW wheels) will help you out. It's a very safe and effective product -and well worth the time. You have expensive wheels my man, so take care of them.

ok ok ok...

so lets say I got the Meg's wheel brush. Kinda looks like a pine tree... how exactly does one use it around the rims? Same with the PS21 wheel gel?

Make sure you wheels are cool. Hose them down and get it wet. Spray your favorite wheel cleaner/gel. Depending on the instructions for the product, most of the time letting it sit for a couple of minutes is enough.

Then with a bucket of wash solution, take the wheel brush and poke/agitate it inside your spokes to reach spots on the inside and back of your wheels that you wouldn't normally be able to reach. Your wheels won't get 100% clean without actually removing them, but I find that it serves its purpose really well.

Rinse. Repeat if necessary.

BTW, your car looks really really good. The only thing I didn't care about is your tire dressing. Your tires look greasy as hell, like a bucket of KFC. You might want to at least wipe off any excess. It'll help prevent any sling too if you put on too much product. Also, make sure you scrub and clean your tires for your dressing to look as nice and even as possible. I find that if I keep applying dressing to tires without cleaning them, eventually they start getting that greasy look.
