I'm finally happy with the results after a 2nd layer of natty's. May even add a third. This was done by hand, what are your opinions (looking for criticism to help me do a more thorough job).

What can I do better? Would a polish have helped (the paint is new, with very minor marring)... ???

:thx

Looks great. I would pick up some good wheel cleaner and a Meg's spoke brush. You can get rid of that famous BMW brake dust from inside your wheels. (I'm really anal)

How do you like your 328? I'm considering a new one or a used E46 M3.

Not bad at all :goodjob , but yeah, those spider web rim need some cleaning thou. Man, why BMW are soo nortious with braking dusting anyway?

p.s what camera are you using?

They brake hard. :)

Ya, get a wheel cleaner and give the inside of those wheels a spray after agitating with a spoke brush, it'll look good. If you didn't already you might want to dress the wheel wells too.

Definetly get a Meguiars Spoke Brush. I use it and works fantastic. People will noticed the inside of the wheel if its really dirty. Also, when the inside of the wheel is clean, it gives it much more depth.

Hey guys, thanks for the responses. I'm still a bit confused as to what a wheel well is. Would someone mind taking the photo into photoshop and highlighting what you guys are talking about?

Turned out very good; though I see a few missed spots (some imperfections on the wheels). Paint itself looks great.

Looking at the paint finish in the pictures, there i very little to criticise mate - it really does look supberb with a lovely deep looking finish achieved on the grey. Direct light shots would make it easier to assess the true condition of the paint (eg sun shots, halogen light shots) and if there are swirl marks in the paint then the PC will see you on your way to getting rid of them.

As metioned above, a good wheel brush to get inbehind the spokes to get rid of the brake dust on the inside of the wheel. I tend to take my wheels off for a thorough clean every few months - use either Auotglym SRP or Klasse AIO after a thorough clean to remove ingrained grime, then I tend to seal with a couple of coats of 1Z Glanz Wax as this allows the flake to ping through nicely on allows and laso the sealent makes the wheels so much easier to clean. :)

Definitely looks wet. :)

A little more attention to the wheels and wheel wells would help, some deep polishing would take your finish to the next level...although I bet next to pretty much any other same color E90, yours already looks better.

That first pic really gets me.

I'd have to agree with everyone else to take a little extra time on the wheels. It looks good but just a little more time on the smaller details and it will be even better.

Hey guys, I'm flattered by the responses :) As for the wheels... ehhh I'm not stressing out over them. I still don't fully comprehend the point to cleaning behind the wheels, even if they end up pitting (my previous car probably had plenty of pitting and still performed fine). I see what you mean about the wheel well now... I have a tire brush but I don't think it'd fit in there. I"ll look into the meg's everyones talking about, but again I'm not stressing over that area.

Thank you guys again! I'm looking to do a z2/z5 for my 2nd detail I'll post pics in a few months when I do it.

Very nice work! Apart from what others have pointed out, the only area of opportunity I see are the tires. Are you using a liquid/foam spray? They look blotchy. I personally prefer gels instead as they go on uniform and give a very sleek look. If you prefer sprays, I would suggest apply them via an applicator instead of directly onto the rubber.

I did black magic gel, which looked great... then i had some left over armorall foam so I just sprayed that over for more unnecessary excessive shine :)

I really think you should clean behind the spokes. It does have a significant impact on the appearance overall. Also, the tire wet you used looks blotchy, like someone said above. Try wiping away the excess.
