Your Favorite Process?

Just One More Coat
With all the steps that go into a full detail...I have few processes that I like the most.

Clay is one for me....you can see all the crud coming off the paint...its one that ALLOT of people don't understand, or even know about it.....I love the feeling that the paint takes on after.

Polishing after SWR...this is where I can see the luster come back into the paint....its coming back to life and the swirls are gone and I can see what the sealant and or LSP is going to produce.

Where I really enjoy cleaning the whole car...the paint has always been my favorite area.

What are yours?

I enjoy detailing wheels/tires/brakes/springs/struts/wheelwells, etc.

To me, that's the finishing touch on any vehicle.

I am with you on this one Beemerboy. I am not mechanical so some things do not get the attention to detail that it most likely should because a lot of times I am afraid to mess something up.

The paint is out in the open for all to see. Paint is something that can be worked on without fear of breaking. One can mess it up but the truck will still run.

I like to make the paint shine. The engine compartment next(strictly wipedown no power washing). Then the wheel wells. Last is the interior. Something that I do but....not without a fight.

Wheel WELLS!!! I hate seeing a great shiney car with tire dressing, but with dry grey wells! That is my biggest thing. I love doing the windows, that makes the car look great and clear. Also blowing the excess water out of the cracks!

I love waxing by hand after claying and polishing. The wax spreads sooo easy and smooth. Removal is even easier. Finished product is slick to the touch, has great warmth, depth, and shine.

Ditto.

Washing the car with sheepskin mitt + nice smelling shampoo (4*,nxt,z7) + lots of sudssss wahahahahaha :t  sorry, got a bit excited there.

Like waxing, buffing and standing back enjoying my masterpiece too

I like wheel cleaning/polishing, enigine cleaning, door jams, and every other fine detail that can make my vehicle look a whole lot better than someone who takes it to the quickkie detailer.

Of course I love polishing and such, but too many times I have clayed and waxed where my hand hurts for hours after. Not sure why but I guess it has something to do with the size of my hands and the way they are bent. But the results are def. worth the pain.

My favorite area to detail is the paint. My favorite single process though hands down is claying. It's fast and easy and when you're working on paint that is already in decent condition it makes the biggest difference. Plus I love it when my paint is ultra smooth feeling and claying definitely makes waxing afterward much easier.

Glass and trim gets my vote. I find that these are some of the most overlooked areas in a detail. Most people will just wipe a glass cleaner on and be done with it. That doesnt take off embedded waterspots, and when the right towel isnt used, leaves streaks. I like getting the glass perfectly clear and crisp and then having the trim being dark and rich in color.

probably lsp's becuase its the end of the big detail and when i put the sealant on I get to do the tires and rims and wheel wells, its all routine and I like it!
