Your biggest passenger pet peeve?

What? Can't anyone do anything for themselves nowadays? Who decided that kids should not be expected to open their own door to get out of the car??? It reminds me of the school buses here that pick up every kid at their house, like it's that hard to walk to the bus stop at the end of the block. These houses/apartments are ~100ft from each other....give me a break!

As I said in my other post, it isn't a matter of people not being able to do it themselves, the school is trying to keep the line moving. Just imagine a line of 50 cars and you have to wait for people to get out of their cars and go around to let their kids out. I don't know about you but, I have a coupe and the wagon has child proof doors, the kids can't get out of either car by themselves...

They go door to door here as well. I for one am grateful for it as the road we live on is not safe for the kids to be out walking on. I seriously doubt that door to door bus service is doing anything detrimental to kids. Most likely someone whined that if someone else's kids can be picked up at their front door, why can't their kids so the school is doing it for everyone even though only some may actually need that kind of service because of the roads.

My girlfriend, has turned into a bigger fanatic than me. She parks strategically to avoid dings, avoids puddles, does not allow mess or food in the car, always uses handles (along with all her passengers), does not touch glass, and anything else. I love it. I actually look forward to cleaning her car every week as its just soo easy to wash.

Care to find another girl like that and send her my way!!! Some where around 18-20 yrs old.. :bigups :cooleek: :rofl

My wife and I don't have kids yet, so bear with me...

We wanted to try being parents for a day, so we took my niece and nephew into a museum in town. It was the most stressful day of my life. From strapping their car seats into the back (on a couple of thick beach towels, of course), them kicking the back of my seats, to trying to explain why they can't have any snacks in the car... I thought I was going to die from the stress... Needless to say, it makes me wonder about having kids... JK... God, my wife would kill me if she read this.

Well.. Thats alittle different dude, shes been raised like that.. If you had your own kid, you could raise her different and she may respect your stuff alittle more.. Dont let a kid thats not even yours scare you.. :grinno:

Ha ha I like this thread I can relate to a lot of stuff in here some people just have no class!

My biggest problem is people closing my doors by the window or putting thier greasy prints on the door to close it. Most other stuff doesnt bug me anymore as I have realized I am not driving a goddamb 1 off. Some people go to far and I find cant even enjoy there cars!

I hate it when people don't put their feet on the mats. I can always buy new mats, sure, but I don't want to. KEEP YOUR DAMN FEET ON THE MATS!!!

What would have been very interested in this post would have been to also put your age. That would be interesting to see how these are sorted by that demographic. I seem to recall on a survey done here at one time that around 20% of the members were over 40 and I havent seen any of those that I recognize listing anything.

THIS IS NOT FLAMING JUST CURIOUSITY.

The stuff that can be cleaned up doesn't bother me so much like fingerprints in the windows/hard plastic or maybe even some dirt on the mats.

Slamming my doors drives me crazy. Its a frickin 1 year old car, not your greasy granny's 83 Skylark. It takes 1 frickin finger to close the door.

Wow, couldn't agree more. This is aboslutely my #1 petpeeve. One time I even TOLD this kid not to slam my door. He still did it. I let it slide because his car takes a 1000lb hydraulic pump to close it. Also, smokers would not be allowed near ME, not to mention my car.

Absolutely. I have seen school buses going driveway-to-driveway on busier roads, but I live in a quiet neighborhood where every street is lightly traveled with wide shoulders and a 25mph speed limit.

I can see how the kids at the school could speed things up now. I wasn't thinking about child-locking doors that must be opened from the outside.

Whenever we are in parking lot or something and standing around our cars, I always have friends that lean on my car and get hand prints all over. That drives me crazy, especially under those flouresent lights. And one day someone layed out all his food on my trunk lid and started eating. My car being used as a table dosen't exactly thrille me either.

Like everybody else, I hate the door slamming. My mother in law is the worst. I also hate the finger prints on the window, but it's not too bad. I also hate it when they take off the seatbelt and the metal latch bangs against the side panel. Now that I'm thinking about it, I hate it when my mother in law takes off her seatbelt when we are still 3 blocks from our destination.

Just hit the brakes real hard. She won't do it again :spot

An incident today sparked the idea for this thread. I'm a total non smoker for a couple of reasons including the fact that my father is a lung doctor. Anyone riding in my car would know this, thus, everyone who rides in my car is a non smoker as well. Well, today I was going out to my car after school and my friend was like David, can you take me and my sister home (his tire was flat, plus he has 2 15's in his trunk thus, he doesn't keep the spare tire in the car). I said sure, and unlocked the car. I had to run back in school to get my stats book, and when I come back out, his sister is ****ing lighting up a Marlboro in my backseat. I didn't have to say anything except "Out.", but I was furious. I hate the smell of smoke, and now the car smells like smoke. Left her dumb *** standing in the parking lot too. So, to all of you, what's that one thing you hate that your passengers do when they get in your car? A close second for me is touching the glass. Whattabout y'all?

:werd: You rock. hopefully a small cloud formed over her head and it started to hail on her, putting out her smoke and causing her to get a cold. You did the rightn thing bro . . . i tip my hat to you good sir. :xyxthumbs

- PEOPLE LEANING ON THE CAR! :hairpull

For example, if a few friends and I meet up somewhere and we're standing outside the car talking and people decide to lean on the car.

- Door slamming

- Touching the paint

- Touching the radio and Heating/Air Conditioning (only a select few are allowed)

Thankfully I've never had someone attempt to light up in the car.

I have two really:

1. People who point to show you something and begin tapping the window quickly as if this is going to get my attention even faster - nothing worse than permanent "damage" spots in my tint.

2. People who twist, shut, open my air vents with the strength of a muscle-bound, steroid-induced raging lunatic. It's very similar to the slamming-the-door peeve...it just takes a light touch but for some reason, several people think this is a carnival and a bell goes off when when they slam the door or my air vents.

Smoking does bother me, but luckily I have not experienced yet - although I will admit that the car has smelled due to coming out of clubs or bars.

I don't like having anyone in my car, can't trust "normal" people. As for smoking, well I do enjoy a lung torpedo but no-one (me included) EVER lighst up in my car. I'll add 10 minutes on to a long journey so I can stop off & have a smoke. Once soemone smokes in your car it stinks for ever.

That bothers me and the fact that some people tend to think you need to touch the paint to close the door, leaving fingerprints and marks right above the door handle.
