damn! if a pc can do that then why cant it remove a scatch i have ont he bottom part of my bumber. its just slight enough that my finger nail catches it slightly but the pc does nothing to it...
 
The spoiler on that car is a giveaway that the paint is not in the best condition but I will bet that the area has been repaired in the past and the paint was put back pretty thin.
 
We need to also keep in mind that polishes are abrasives in varying degrees. If you placed some aggressive polish on a cotton cloth and hand rubbed the paint long enough, you could end up with the same condition ... rubbing through the clearcoat, basecoat and eventually into the primer. Every time you polish your paint, you are in fact removing paint. If you were not removing anything, the condition of the paint would not change.
