So I have been on here 2 days and I went out and bought a PC 7336SP today. So now I need to know is whats next? I have lots of mothers products but I dont see them mentioned here to much so I assume they are gone. I have a couple of absorbers and lots of diaper type rags. And thats about it. So please let me know what to get from products to pads and so on.

Oh and this is for my personal use and maybe I'll do 2-3 other cars a month. Thanks

Welcome to the addiction! :D

I know nothing about the mothers product line - plenty of people here do though so tell us what you got. What kind of car will you be detailing? What color? How old? What shape is the finish in? Once the conversation starts the free "advice" will flow pretty freely.

Forexample, I'll say a couple of Microfiber towels are in order - you'll appreciate the difference.

Don't throw the Mother's stuff away. They make lots of good products and it may be all you need for a while.
The polishing pad that came with your PC is not, IMO, junk and can probably be used with some of the products you already have. You might want to list the Mother's products you have presently and get some comments on them.
Read, ask questions, and buy products when you have a better feel for what you really need.
You will probably want a backing plate and a few pads for your new PC, and there are quite a few choices so don't jump too quick.
Some good micro fiber towels will be a good place to start spending. At the very least, use good 100% cotton terry towels and not the diaper type clothes.
The absorber seems to work fine if you are meticulous about having a clean surface when you use it.

I am driving a 2002 Chrysler Sebring convertable. It is green and has a black top. There are light swirls and a few scratches. But overall its in pretty good shape. I will also be doing a 99 Expedition that has never been detailed although one side was repainted a year ago cause of an accident. It is kind of an olive green.

As far as what I have, I have the mothers 3 step cleaner, polish, and wax. Oh and I have the mothers clay bar but I have never used it. Not sure of numbers cause its at home and I am at school.

Oh yeah what do you guys do to take care of a convertable top?

Ok so i was looking at my roomates stuff and hes has Meguiars 2, 7, and 26. Now the #2 says only for use with a rotary buffer. Are any of these worth trying and can I use the #2 with the PC?

IMO, none of those three products would really benefit from the use of the PC.
The abrasives in #2 probably won't break down enough to leave a decent finish unless it is used with a rotary.
#7 probably works just as well by hand. (I can't make it work with anything:))
If the #26 is a liquid, you could apply it with the PC, but it would also be easy to apply by hand.
#26, liquid or paste, is a good carnauba wax, but needs to have a well prepared surface to really look good. It also is bad about staining black trim.
So far, you are probably better off using the Mother's products you have.

well thats just what was laying around. What do you guys suggest I buy to get the best finish and protection? I was not all that impressed with the Mothers stuff the last time I used. It looked great but seemed to only last for about a month to 6 weeks before I needed to do it all again.
