You Can Detail Wheels with AIO and PB stuff ?

Am I correct that you can apply sealants and glazes to wheels to keep dirt and brake dust off them?

I think mine are standard aluminum, if there's anything to avoid let me know. So far, I've just used Eagle A2Z cleaner and regular washing but if putting coats on the wheels helps -- esp. in winter -- I will do it.

I remember when I had the Vette -- I think the wheels were standard alumininum back in '88 -- they specifically warned about using certain cleaners and/or waxes or sealants. I only used soap and water on it, didn't take chances as this was B.I. (Before Internet!).

Assuming you have the Civic right now, you should be def fine to apply waxes/sealants to your wheels. With the high heat you get, I would choose a sealant. AIO is great to clean up the surface, just make sure to polish if needed!

I have used this on my BMW rims and it seems to ward off some of the dust. They sure clean up a lot faster.

Keeping a sealant/wax on the wheels will definitely help with cleanup. It makes it harder for the brake dust to adhere to the wheel I guess.

I clean/polish/etc. my wheels and then go over them with AIO and then UPP.
This has eliminated the use of harsh wheel cleaners when cleaning in the future.
Car wash soap or Poorboys S&W washes away all brake dust and dirt.
I do the inside of the wheels also for easier cleaning.
This is one of the many tips I have received from Detail City that really saves time!

Good to know, guys. I don't know what's in that A2Z I bought or in similar stuff, but it can't be good for the wheels (though I rinsed it off within 1 minute with a hose).

Next time I add some layers, I will AIO+UPP or PB the wheels.

A2Z is really strong and cheap, but dangerous from reports that I've heard. I don't like a product that will stain easily if you let it sit under certain conditions. Good for heavy cleaning, but might strip your waxes

GREAT !! I just ordered some SG from Dwayne so I can use that with my AIO for the wheels.

I rinsed that stuff off right away...I'm not TOO PARANOID about it doing any damage...we are talking about an $18,000 Civic, after all. But it's good to know for any upscale vehicles I work on in the future -- or own myself!!! lol

I often use AIO on my wheels. Sometimes, I'll top with a clear sealant like Klasse SG, 4* UPP, or PB EX-P. Other times, I'll get lazy and just stop at the AIO phase. If I have a sealant topper, I'll use PB QD+ as a quick refresher. It will put a little extra shine on an older layer of sealant without stripping it off in the process.
